We have a field with some horses in it next to our house. Never have been bothered with horse flies before but this year they are awful! We can't even go outside without being swarmed and biten. We can even hear them coming. We are putting insect repellant on us, but I am afraid to put it on the grand baby as she is still so little. Does anyone know if those mosquito repellant coils, etc. would work for these critters too? Thanks!

No advice, but I HATE those things!

In day camp when I was younger a fly landed on my arm. I started making a big fuss about it, that thing HURT! All my counselors couldn't figure out why I was making such a big deal over a fly, then they flicked it away and saw the small drop of blood trickling down my arm.

I swear, for the rest of the summer I screamed whenever I was near a fly, lol. Can you tell I have a low pain tolerance?

You need bullets to get rid of those things! ;)

*try ride the horse covered in those things!! lol* i used to get those coil looking things at walmart but the smell on them was pretty bad.. dunno if that would harm a baby or not..
