Calling next week to make my ADR for the Bistro De Paris. After reading Mr. Disney's review, I can't wait for dessert!

My question is, how long does it take to eat dinner here? This is our first fine dinning experience :rotfl: but, we are really excited about trying this place. Hope we don't get laughed out of there. I wouldn't know a good wine from bad. I'm more of a Lapu Lapu kind of girl. :rotfl2:

Anything you can tell me about this place will help, Thanks

It was a pretty long dinner... very leisurely. Which was strange because the staff all always looked that they were running (well, shuffling fast, at least) everywhere, as fast as they possibly could.

we ate there for 2.5 hours last time. we like to take our time and enjoy a fine meal with wine and/or drinks, a few appetizers, entree, dessert and coffee. the atmosphere is upscale but relaxed. great waitstaff.

Thanks bicker and donaldtutter :) Trying to figure out what time to request so we can catch the fireworks after dinner. :)

How dressed up did both of you guys get?

I was in a short-sleeve half-button-down polo shirt and khaki pants. I wasn't terribly under-dressed.

That exactly what my husband is going to wear and his nice deck shoes.
Thanks bicker. :)

bicker and DisneyFans4 how was your dinning experience at the Bistro?

It was okay... more funny than romantic though. We were seated at a table for two that was inconveniently located in the middle of a lot of traffic. (I think we got a bad seating because we were somewhat more casually dressed.) There was a serving cart that a lot of the servers used for table-side service, and it kept getting in everyone's way. One server would move it, and then a minute later another server would bump into it and move it back, and so on back and forth it went all night. Anyway, that's the part that stuck out most in my mind. I know, from my trip report, that the food was great and the service was fine.

Definately 2 1/2 to 3 hours, easy for your meal. This is a sit back, relax between the courses type of place.

Don't worry about not knowing wines, they are great with helping you, or you do what we do, take a stab at it. They have some wonderful wines and we have never not enjoyed what they have recommended.

They are they only park restaurant that ask that you do follow the dress code of resort casual. Although people on these boards have reported seeing people in shorts, etc..we never have as many times as we have eaten there, people always look nice.

It is a very small, intimate restaurant. Very romantic. Wonderful service, wonderful food. Definately one of the best kept secrets on disney property.

Oh, and if you like scallops, the scallop appetizer with truffles is to die for!
Get the dessert sampler because it is way to hard to choose just one..lol.

Thanks! This is the only place I am really unsure for myself. My husband is really excited. This is the only place he requested. He said he wants to try something different. This will be our first fine dinning experience. I think the part I am most looking foward to is the dessert :teeth:

I love Bistro. I thought the food and service were great. I love that the restaurant was quiet, intimate and romantic. I don't remember how long our meal was, especially because we went outside to watch the fireworks and they put our food on hold.
