Bistro de Paris with children

We ate at Bistro de Paris on our honeymoon many years ago and would like to go back. My DD's are excellent in restaurants (6 and 8) and I'd like to take them to see it.

Has anyone seen children there? Do they have a children's menu?

We have taken our daughter there twice, once at 14 months and the 2nd time at 19 months. They do have a children's menu, pretty much the same as all the other WDW restaurants-hamburger, chicken fingers, Mickey pasta, etc.

Also, we've seen other kids in there each time we've eaten there (both with our daughter and before she was born) so yours definitely won't be the only ones. My suggestion though, if you're worried about taking them there for whatever reason, would be to make an early reservation. We ate early both times with our daughter and we could count the number of tables occupied on 1 hand. Without her though we used to eat later, and Bistro was packed at that time. Of course, time of year might have something to do with that I'm sure.

Thanks for the advice! I'll make an early ADR there. I was concerned because the replies for V&A with children thread I read was pretty harsh.

I dislike it intensly when children are in an inapproprate place myself so I am sensitive to offending others.

Justthat - are you sure you are not talking about Chef of France. That is the street level restuarant in France. It has a children's menu and always has plenty of children in it. The Bistro de Paris is upstairs above the Chefs. It does NOT have a children's menu. Very few children go there. They would have to order off of the regular adult menu and pay adult prices. A meal takes about 2 hours. I've only seen one small child there (he was about 4) and he was lying on the chairs/bench seat (can't remember which, just that he was lying down).

OP - if you don't mind paying for an adult meal for your children and they can sit for a long meal without running around the restaurant or whinning/crying as to bother other dinners then I say go for it. Some children can handle fine dinning and I see nothing wrong with children attending nicer restuarants

Shelly is right..Le Bistro is very small, very intimate and romantic. No place for kids, and we rarely see children in there.

Twice we have seen children dining while we have been there..once a little girl approx 7/8 years old with impeccable behavior. She did not move or speak for almost three hours.
The second time..it was a large group..a ton of kids, all ages, yelling and screaming, running around the dining room. Us, along with many others asked to be moved from the area they were sitting in and keep in mind..the dining room is so small..that doesn't leave you many places to go.

If your children can not sit still for hours and eat adult food..I wouldn't take them there. Another option for you would be..put the kids in one of the disney clubs for a few hours while you enjoy your dinner, or hire someone from kids night out to come to your room, entertain your girls while you enjoy a nice dinner. We highly recommend kids night out sitter service. We have used it for our grandaughter and the person they sent was outstanding. We gave her money to take our grandaughter out for lunch. They had a great time together.

Yes, I am 100% positive that it is Bistro-we've never eaten in Chefs. Bistro does indeed have a children's menu as we ordered off of it once (1st time we just let my daughter eat off of my plate). I've heard that a lot on these boards, but if you ask, you can indeed get a kids menu with crayons. They have a little bucket of crayons at one of the service stations when you first walk up the stairs and into the dining room. They're fairly kid friendly there too, in fact they had a waiter carry our stroller upstairs for us (the elevator was not working) because our daughter was sleeping when we arrived. My daughter loves the chocolate souffles there so we'll be heading back in March too. We've always gotten out in well under 2 hours, no longer than any other sit down restaurant at WDW, around 1 hr, 15 minutes. And we get appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Here's a picture of the little hog eating her souffle! (She was 14 months then.)
