Bistro de Paris or Raglan Road

Yes, very odd question, I know, but bear with me.

The only time I think I'll be able to do DTD is arrival day........I expect to get to the CR around 3 pm or so. I can't go do DTD because I have an ADR at Citricos at 7:30 and with the travel time and wanting to change for dinner, there's just not enough time.

Bistro gets mixed reviews, but I would absolutely keep it and not change it if it weren't for the fact that I really want to spend some time at DTD - dinner, some shopping, Ghirardellis, lol. I can get french bistro food at home, so I'm thinking that maybe I will change my Citricos reservation to the day I have set aside for Bistro (assuming I can) and then make an ADR for Raglan Road on my arrival day. I'm not that familiar with the menu, but it sounds like a lot of fun - I love Irish music.

Thoughts? If this works for you guys, any particular menu items I should keep an eye out for?

Big RR fan here. Love the Irish music and the U2 wall , but most of all love sitting by that beautiful bar enjoying a half and half. In my opinion, the bar and main dining room of RR are the best in all of DW. Also, since we stay at POFQ, the walk to the boat launch is just enough to get the senses back to normal

However, I don't think any meal, except for V&A, is worth rearranging plans just to be able to do. So I'd go ahead and do Ragland Road even though it's not in the same league with Bistro.

You should know that not all tables at Ragland are in the same room where the band plays. The last time we were there we were seated in one of the side rooms and could barely hear the music (we didn't care; we've heard it before). I find Ragland's food to be too heavy for me so I'm happy just getting a cup of the tomato bisque and a green salad. I love this soup there.

If you like bread pudding for dessert, Raglan Road has a dessert to die for...it's a bread pudding, and the waiter/waitress will pour caramel and cream into the middle of it till it overflows....so yummy!!!!!

It's killing me to have to cancel one of them, lol, but I guess sacrifices have to be made- I can't do everything.

Thanks for the tip on the music - if I go there, I'd make sure to ask for a table in the same room where the band plays.

Sounds lovely; I was in Ireland a few years ago and so hearing some Irish music would bring back some fond memories.

Outstanding ADRs! You should have a wonderful trip. I'm not sure what advice to give on your question. We love Bistro, but not to Raglan Road. Although we go to DTD fairly often we usually prefer not to eat there.

I like both Bistro and Raglan Road. All of your ADRs sound wonderful to me, actually. If I were going to Downtown Disney for dinner, my first choice would be Raglan Road.

That's what makes it so tough, lol. I don't want to leave the parks early to go to DTD; I guess I could go after my early dinner at V&A, but I'd rather not. You don't need to take a cab from the Grand Floridian unless you feel the need to get there faster than the bus. The bus can be slow going, but it will get you there.

Downtown Disney shops close at 11pm. Raglan Road closes 2am. You can catch a bus back to your resort from the West Side/Pleasure Island bus stop near Planet Hollywood.

And I love ice cream and chocolate desserts as much as anyone I know, and I still think the bread pudding at Raglan Road is incredible.

Dh and I shared the appetizer for two for our entire dinner. We left very happy, but very, very stuffed! They should call it the appetizer for four!!!


So now, we go to Raglan Road on our arrival day before we start DDP, and get the appetizer for 2. For Disney -- dinner for 2 for $26 plus drinks is awesome!!

Warning: After sharing an appetizer at Raglan Road...we turned around and did it again at Coral Reef the next day. NO! An appetizer at Coral Reef is not big enough for 1 persons lunch, much less 2 people. Plus, we were with friends who thought we were either really cheap or really broke, when in fact we were just really dumb. LOL

Given your other ADRs, I'd def. go with Raglan Road. It's always a must do for us. I love sitting there enjoying some nice adult beverage (hard cider on tap! ) and listening to the band.

The problem with the bus is that apparently it can take an hour to get to DTD - I don't have enough time to spare to give up an hour there and back.

Oddly, I didn't see the BP on the dessert menu - and I just checked RR's website. I hope they haven't gotten rid of it.
