Biscuit's Grand Adventure | An epic tale three decades in the making!

I, like Marita, have been swamped like crazy in work. So what a treat to finally make it here and to get TWO GB updates in one day!:thumbsup2

I love 'Ohana, too, especially that scrumptious bread pudding. In fact, I do NOT have ADRs there for my upcoming trip and I'm a little verklempt about it. Just a little, though. It's a short trip so I can't expect to hit everything ;) (We are hitting Cali Grill, Tutto Italia, Rose & Crown, Cat Cora's new place @ the Boardwalk, Brown Derby lunch for my beloved cobb salad and a couple of others too. Not bad for a four nighter!)

I continue to be in awe of your family's energy level. My family is all in bed early most WDW nights. All that walking and running around, and even all that FOOD, really wipes us out. Even my teenagers! We are kinda sorta early birds though, so I guess it balances out. All the pictures, as usual, were great. Your girls are so precious.

Hope you are enjoying a great Labor Day weekend, GB! Looking forward to hearing more....

Wow! I can't believe you made it that late with the kids, and bellies full of 'Ohanas - that kind of meal puts me to sleep! Bravo to you though, you did so much that night!

Great Update. Can't believe how late your kids made it before crashing. Oh and I especially love the Donald's Butt reference for Phillarmagic (sp). Such a cute ending to the show, literely! :rotfl:

I mentioned in the Season 7 preview that we scored some leftover party swag and brought it along for the trip. We wound up with leis for all three kids, and matching floral hair clippie thingamadoos for the girls. Tracy found some matching flowered dresses and the ensemble was complete.

About the time our salad hit the table, the coconut race was announced. WOOHOOO. The kids all ran up and grabbed their brooms and coconuts and prepared for the grand prix. For those who haven’t been to ‘Ohana, the premise is fairly simple. The kids get a coconut and whack it with an miniature broom around the aisle of the restaurant.

Then IT arrived. Oh you know what IT I’m talking about. Hot, gooey, sweet fluffy goodness that you just want to wrap around your tongue like a winter coat and never take off. I’m referring of course to the infamous ‘Ohana bread pudding.

!

The girls are ADORABLE in their outfits! I love the coconut race picture, I've heard about it but never seen a picture. Good to know about the 20 minutes in between courses and 5 courses...I'll need to remember that if I ever get one of the coveted pagers myself!

I love Pandora. Of all the free internet applications that have come down the pipe, this one ranks right up there among the best. While looking over photos from the trip, I’ve been listening to film scores the past coupel of days and I have to say that it’s a great way to relive memories. The next time you are feeling nostalgic, pull out the photos of your kids meeting their favorite characters while the main title from Forest Gump is playing. Or look at a photo of yourself hurrying to a dining reservation while listening to The Last Starfighter.

So there you go. A little glimpse into the odd mind of yours truly.
I am a huge Pandora fan. It never occurred to me to make a composer station. Thank you for your ramblings, I very much enjoyed reading your update to the theme from Jurassic Park.

What did we think of the show? We all LOVED it. Especially Hailee. She laughed the entire time. Not just giggling either, the child was having full on, gut busting, waves of laughter. At one point I worried she’d laugh herself into an asthma attack. This wound up being her favorite Magic Kingdom attraction. She had a favorite in every park. If you ask her what her favorite attraction of the trip was she bounces between them, but more often than not, usually picks Philharmagic. Which, by the way, she refers to as not as Mickey’s Philharmagic, but as “Donald’s Butt”. If you’ve seen it, think final effect. It certainly makes for interesting conversation when discussing our trip with people. “What was your favorite thing Hailee?” “Seeing Donald’s Butt!” That’s my girl!

Coming up on Episode 65 – Paradise Lost

I love it! You did so much, I'm so jealous, what a wonderful evening on all accounts pink teacups and dumbo hats and all!

Whoa!! awesome update! I agree with about John Williams, I have heard so much of his music and LOVE it. I got to hear the Olympic fanfare while watching the beginning of the Olympics live. I also agree with Hailee on Philharmagic. It's the best thing in MK. Maybe even the whole World. :)

I have spent many an anxious moment, trying to scout out the competition and devise strategies to get to the purple Dumbo, or blue teacup for my girls.

That's why I love Triceratop Spin -- the cars are all green!

Oh, my, 'Ohana looked wonderful! I have it down for this trip and I can't wait. I think you were lucky with the spacing of your courses; I keep reading about people's complaints that the food just keeps coming on top of each other. I don't care either way--how can you complain that your appetizers are there with your salad? Fill that plate up!
After I had time to digest it, literally, I liked having a bit longer. It was nice having a relaxing, air conditioned break from the heat. I too had heard the horror stories of rushed meals, but we never encoutered it during our stay.

The kids looked absolutely ADORABLE in their Hawaiian outfits!
Thanks!

I love the kids' Birnbaum, but I've never purchased the adult edition (well, that didn't sound right...). I got the best guide on sale at B&N for 4.99, The Complete Walt Disney World 2008, that's all in color and packed with lots of in depth information about the parks, rides and details. It has a daily plan for each park (not as detailed as the UG) and I love the pictures! Just a great read for when you're missing Disney.
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to check it out.

And another great installment. It made me wish I could stay awake till 3 a.m.! We are the opposite family, up at dawn and ready to go to bed with the two year olds on vacation! :lmao: We have made it till midnight at MNSSHP. It sounded like you had a blast on this night and the kids looked happy in every picture.
We definitely had a blast!

Don't feel guilty about nana's pictures--I love the one of you all flying over London! Disneyland's FL is great; lots of the rides go from scene to scene with just your vehicle in them and doors closing behind. We got pictures in Mr. Toad's and Alice that I did not have to feel guilty about!:thumbsup2
Oh I'm not too guilty! I'm acutally glad we have them.

Wow, I had no idea the Spectromagic composer also did the score for The Passion of Christ. Thank you for that trivial tidbit. Actually, looking at the list of other score compositions: Princess Diaries, Hanna Montana, maks me wonder what Mel heard that made him decide, "this is the guy!". I mean, don't get me wrong, these movies had good music. Just a little snappy and upbeat for the execution of our saviour, wouldn't you think?
I was a bit impressed by his stylistic range myself. Some of his other credits include White Fang, Cutthroat Island, The Relic, Elf, The Emperor's New Groove, Aliens in the Attic, the upcoming Iron Man 2.

Anywho, great entry, and wonderful pictures as always. Your girls sure do look like little bundles of energy. The kids always look so tired in our Disney pictures. Yet there your girls are grinning and beaming at 3:00 in the morning.
It helps that both girls are night owls. We also didn't do any turbo touring and pretty well kept the pace intentionally slow.

I'm glad you got to see Wishes, even if it was in a bad location. It would be too much if a shame to miss it entirely.
Me too!

Hey, GB, sorry to ask you a technical question, but seeing as you're a computer guy and seem to have this trip report thing down ...
I'm working on my first trip report and I'm just wondering how to update the title on the thread when I add new entries. I know it's probably a stupid question. It seems that everyone knows how to do it but me, but I just can't figure it out... Thanks!!!!!!! I super-duper appreciate it. Sorry to hi-jack your TR with a stupid question.

Go to the original post or 1st posting. Hit the edit button. There will be a button that says advanced. Click on that. It will then list your title at the top and you can go in and edit/update it. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! Off to give it a try...
Thanks for pinch hitting Jordan!

GB -

Thank you. For the first time, I have an idea of what Peter Pan LOOKS LIKE. Thank you, Nana! (?)

Let the flames on that one proceed.
Our pleasure!

WOW. I am so impressed with the girl's stamina - I am an early bird, my husband is a night owl - hard to reconcile, but we make it work. (I drag him out of bed;))

I am AWED by your parenting. I think it is really smart to tell your girls that "You can't always get what you want" (Cue french horns here )- but I sure am glad Pixie dust made sure they got what they needed!
They did great! It helps that we are all wired the same.

How is everyone doing?
Doing well, thanks!

Wow, what an amazing night at MK! Hopefully you all get to sleep in the next day!

Denise
We did...much to our cullinary demise!

Don't forget Nightmare Before Christmas, which I love for the music just as much as anything!
Good point!

Indeed, it does. We tried to leave w/a stroller during Spectro. We were in Tomorrowland, so we had to navigate 2/3 of the parade route with 6 adults & a stroller.
Not fun times! Not fun at all!

I was so excited to see an update!! What a fantastic EMH you all had!! Dumbo and Peter Pan with short to non existing waits!!! Wow!!!:cool1:
It was

Only 2 weeks and 2 days until our trip, but we are the rope drop crowd as the kids get up early and pass out by 10 or 11 the latest!
Awesome! Have fun!

It's the same for DH and I. I was patient at WDW in April since he had never been, but I've already threatened to leave him in the room when we go to DLR next month since he knows that place like the back of his hand and won't get lost ;)
LOL. I tend to be more of a park commando than Tracy. I DID find a way to help feed the inner park beast though...long about day 7 I believe.

Loved the update! I knew what Donald's Butt would be before I read it! It's the only 3D show I like, and actually, I love it.
I was mighty impressed by it. I have to say it's one of my new fav's.

Question about Dumbo. You mentioned you are not a spinning ride person and skipped the tea cups. How is Dumbo for you? DH doesn't do spinning either and consequently, I haven't been on Dumbo in years. :sad2: He hasn't had a bad experience, but he doesn't want to risk it. I personally would rather he risked it, but maybe a little extra encouragement would help? He can ride anything else, but absolutely nothing that goes in a circle.
Dumbo wasn't bad for me, but I'd hate to be the cause of another man's digestive instabilities!

I, like Marita, have been swamped like crazy in work. So what a treat to finally make it here and to get TWO GB updates in one day!:thumbsup2
Glad you had a moment to stop by! It's always good to have you aboard.

Mmmmmmm...sounds like there is some mighty fine eating in your future.

Thanks. The kids far exceeded my expectations.

Hope you are enjoying a great Labor Day weekend, GB! Looking forward to hearing more....
You too! It was nifty!

I couldn't help but snap a picture of him laughing at Donald's Butt when the tail end decided to rest on our breakfast table!
:welcome: That photo had me cracking up. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! I can't believe you made it that late with the kids, and bellies full of 'Ohanas - that kind of meal puts me to sleep! Bravo to you though, you did so much that night!
I was thrilled we got in so many attractions. I had figured we'd maybe get an hour or two.

Great Update. Can't believe how late your kids made it before crashing. Oh and I especially love the Donald's Butt reference for Phillarmagic (sp). Such a cute ending to the show, literely! :rotfl:

It was SUCH a fun meal. I hope you get a pager soon!

YEAH! Love JP. Great sound track!

I love it! You did so much, I'm so jealous, what a wonderful evening on all accounts pink teacups and dumbo hats and all!
We had an AWESOME EMH.

It was definitely a darn tootin nifty little attraction.

They were using the old noodle on that one. I wonder how many times a day those poor CM's have to deal with the hat color issue.

Oh, Littlest Princess INSISTED on the Lavender hat - and she "magically" got it, too! (I really don't think Ferris intervened, but he could have...)

Best,

Mrs. S

Ahhhh, 'Ohana. Drool. Glad to read you thoroughly enjoyed it! The girls' outfits are perfect for it too!

3 AM!!!!!! Wow! I can hardly stay up until midnight anymore. :rotfl: What an excellent time you all had :goodvibes: ....gotta love it when stuff is a walk-on.

"Donald's Butt" :lmao:

Wonderful update!

3 AM?? Whoa! That is SOME touring! Glad your little ones could make it that long, they got to do a lot of the park without the stress and hassle of having 4 million others compete. But I'll bet it was tough burning the candle at both ends, and I'll venture a guess you all slept in long and hard the next morning!

Our drama was over at the Carousel. One of my little darlings just had to have Cindy's horsie. Wouldn't you know it?! The cutoff happened just in front of us, so we too, were first in line. :woohoo:

I guess I'd have to say, that PHarm. was my kids favorite at MK- even my then, 17 year old. Everything in that attraction just comes together for a perfect presentation.

Nice job, GB!! Pix are fab. as always.

Wow all caught up. 'ohana! Electric water pageant! EMH! So many magical moments all in one half of a day!:thumbsup2
Can't wait for more. :goodvibes

It was awesome that’s for sure. Let’s just say though that it almost spelled disaster the next day.

Woohoo! It’s Burly! How’s life? It was definitely a magical night.

I'm behind on TR-reading. Again. :guilty: I'll try to keep up better now that I'm all out of vacation time, I promise! :rotfl:

The past few days, my go-to station has been John Williams radio. You may not know the name...
I do, I do!!
Williams is a film composer and is arguable one of, if not THE best composer in the relatively short history of the medium.
::yes::

Also, Hans Zimmer's scores make my toes curl. :thumbsup2
I let Tahli “drive” and I learned something. I’m going to need a second job to pay for the insurance when she’s a teenager.
:rotfl2:

Okay, I know it's not allowed, blah-blah-blah, but aren't you glad you have this pic in the end? It's so fun! :goodvibes

“What was your favorite thing Hailee?” “Seeing Donald’s Butt!”
:lmao:

Hey GB. Finally catching up since the yes are getting a bit better. Thanks to your links it didn't take to long :thumbsup2:

You may continue nowpopcorn::;)

Ah, Ohana! If I could fit that into my trip in two months, I certainly would! Your review was very tempting. :)

Now as for your EMH, I can't even stay up until 3AM let alone two young children!:scared1: Your girls are serious troopers, night owls to boot!! I am glad that they got their wishes with the teacups and the flying elephants. The little things in life that we don't normally think about as important as adults. It makes me smile to think about it.

Donald's Butt!!:lmao::lmao: That is fantastic, and I'll never go to this attraction again without thinking about Hailee!!:cutie:

I love all of the pictures, too. Good thing that you didn't get caught by the camera police!

Woohoo! Welcome back! I'm hoping to have an update in the next day or two.

They handled it QUITE well. They are both night owls so that helps.

Donald's Butt!!:lmao::lmao: That is fantastic, and I'll never go to this attraction again without thinking about Hailee!!:cutie:
Yeah, we still crack up about that one!

Hey everyone. Sorry for the long delay. We are "restructuring" at work which basically means they realized that after the layoffs, there was more work than people so everything is being reorganzied. Which I actually like as I hate sitting around waiting for somethign to break. Any special projects I can get to pass the time are nifty in my eyes.

We were out of town on Labor Day weekend. We took the girls to San Antonio and met my parents and Lynnlee's family. (Re-uniting Preston, Tahli, Hailee, Nana, Papa, First Lady Biscuit and myself and adding Sister Lynnlee, BIL Chris and new nephew Cooper.) We did the whole riverwalk / Sea World thing and everyone had a blast!

This past weekend we were working on getting all of the centers in Tracy's classroom setup. This coming Saturday we have a birthday party in the morning, a 5 hour seminar at church, and a family movie outing in the evening. All of which means that life has been and continues to be CRAZY BUSY. :laundy:

OH, and some friends from church left for The World today, (in fact they should be landing at MCO like RIGHT NOW), so I've been helping them plan out their itenerary and dining as well. (All part of the friendly service at GreatBiscuit's World Tours.)

ANYHOW. I hope to have an update typed up today, and the photos either uploaded to Photobucket either late tonight or in the morning. SO, look for a post sometime between midnight tonight and noon tomorrow.

Until then, take care my friends and I'll catch up with you all soon!

Edited to say - I see my post count finally broke 1000...after 12 years. Nifty. It's nearly tripled since I started this little narrative. I guess one could see that as both a good thing or a bad thing. I'm gonna go with good though. Because I've gotten to know some great folks here and love interacting with y'all. :grouphug:
