Birthdays noted...special things at all meals?

When making our ADRs, the reservation agent really wanted me to have the birthdays of my twins noted on all of our ADRs. I was just going to have them celebrate at Cinderella's dinner, but she put the note on all of our meals.

Do they do something special at all of the meals in that case?

If so, can you tell me what they do at the following locations? I'd like to plan so that I'm not filling them up with junk if they are getting cupcakes with dinner.

*Chef Mickey's
*Cinderella's Royal Table
*Askerhaus
*Mama Melrose's

Many thanks in advance!

I think all those places will give them a cupcake. Make sure they wear the buttons everyday though because that seems to get more attention then the note on the adr :)

Just a heads-up...do not count on getting something special everywhere, or you'll be setting up for disappointment. It's absolutely "optional" everywhere you go at Disney, they do not guarantee or promise anything extra. It's just a bit of pixie dust that *might* happen. With or without the birthday button and even having it on your reservations you may just get a warm "Happy Birthday" from the servers at the restaurants. Sometimes they will bring out the special birthday cupcake, or something else like a birthday card signed by characters...but just as often they don't . It's not automatic, it's not guaranteed. At Cinderella's Table, they had put castle confetti on the table & did bring out the special cupcake with a lit candle. Three other restaurants that week did nothing other than wish Happy Birthday. At Mama Melrose they just put a candle in the ice cream that DH had ordered as his regular dining plan dessert. Chef Mickey's just said "Happy Birthday." Haven't been to Akershus so can't comment. But will say we went two separate one week trips last year on the Birthday promo (so was our real birthdays), it was on all our reservations, and only had special stuff happen at about 1/3 of the restaurants. Everyone said "Happy Birthday" everywhere, just nothing extra everywhere.

This past Dec we went with my one son who turned 16, one son who graduated high school and his girlfriend who was celebrating her first trip to Disney....they each were given a cupcake with a candle on it at Chef Mickeys. When we went for our 22nd anniversary 2 yrs ago in May we went to dinner at CRT....we were given a small cake with 2 candles on it and a very nice gift of 2 champagne flutes with CRT etched in them....very unexpected! I wasnt even going to open the gift til later in our room, but everyone around us kept saying what did you get can we see...and when we opened them up we were all pleasantly surprised, so you just never know what Disney magic will be showered on you!

They may not do anything - birthday celebrations are at the discretion of the restaurant. My birthday experiences at the restaurants you list were:

Chef Mickey's - Nothing
Akershus - Card signed by Princesses, Cupcake (with gummy worms for some reason)
Mama Melrose - Chef's hat with "Happy Birthday" written on it, card signed by staff

Since I already got dessert at Akershus, the cupcake went to waste. Likewise, at Crystal Palace, I was given a cupcake after our meal (and dessert) was over and did not eat it. :confused3 I felt bad, but I was full.

Thank you for the insight. I agree that it should be a surprise and not expected with all meals. And to be totally honest, I hope that not all of the meals do include some sort of bonus treat. They don't need to be spoiled like that.

But I also like to be somewhat prepared, or at least in my head I do!

We just went 3 weeks ago for our son's 5th birthday and he had his button on most of the time. Here is what they did.

Crystal Palace - Mickey confetti all over the table. Cupcake at the end of breakfast. Card signed by the characters. Happy birthday sung by cast members and those seated around us.

Chef Mickey's - Cupcake at breakfast. Nothing else.

Crystal Palace - (this was his actual birthday) - Cinderella's carriage confetti all over the table. Nice big cupcake and candle at the end of dinner, sang happy birthday. Card signed by the princesses.

Akershus - Cupcake at the end of dinner. Card signed by the princesses.

So if you don't want them full of sugar and cupcakes, don't wear the pin. We only had Crystal Palace marked on the reservation as his actual birthday and yet when we showed up with the pin on, he got the birthday stuff anyway. He was so sick of cupcakes that he didn't finish them.
