Hi All- we are taking our first trip to DL in Aug which will also be for our twin girls 6th birthday. I was thinking or hoping to do something extra to celebrate in the park. Has anyone done the birthday party with Mickey and "pat e cake" at the Plaza Inn? I thought it looked good- a decorate your own little cake and a visit from Minnie and Mickey. But am confused on the menu at the Plaza Inn do they really only have two or three entrees to choose from? (Chicken, pasta or pot roast?) The other option I saw listed was at any resort or park restaurant you can get a small cake and a jewelery box delivered. Has anybody done these or is there just a restaurant that would be more fun with good food on or offsite to celebrate that night. Just looking for ideas-- Thanks in advance for any ideas to make this day/trip even more special!

The birthday party with Pat E Cake is just a party. No meals are served other than the cake which you decorate yourself and a cup with juice. The cost is $15 per person and the party lasts about 40 minutes (or at least it did when we were there for DD's 1st birthday).

Mickey & Minnie don't come out until the end of the party and then anyone that wants to can dance around a little bit. After that, there is a photo op with both Mickey & Minnie.

Do your girls like princesses? A meal at Ariel's grotto might be more fun if they are still into that sort of thing. Goofy's Kitchen has wonderful meals (we have done both the breakfast & dinner) and they had one of their characters bring DD's freebie birthday dessert out to her. It was Jasmine and she sang with us when we sang Happy Birthday.

Celebration Roundup starts in April but so far it has been difficult to get many details.

We're doing the Pat E. Cake birthday party in just over a week. I will post about it in my trip report with pics. Try to look that up after the 15th of March. The link is on the bottom of my posts. The cost is $15.99 per person.

Any of the character meals would be fun for a birthday. Goofy's Kitchen (my fav) & Ariel's Grotto are the only 2 that do dinner. You can request a birthday cake that comes in a princess box or a treasure chest for $15.00 &/or get a goodie bag for $4.99. You don't have to preorder this you can let them know at check-in. I believe its available at a number of the restaurants thru out the hotels & parks.
We did ours at Goofy's Kitchen & Jasmine sang happy birthday to our kids....very cute & exciting for them!!!

We take our grandkids for the fourth birthday. We always do the birthday party. They love to decorate their cake and see Mickey/Minnie.

I have never heard this before. Do you have anymore information on it?

If you're staying in one of the 3 DL Resort Hotels, you can order thru Vacation Planning & have the cake delivered to your room or to a meal you have PS set up for. Vacation Planning is at 714-300-7526 option 2

OR

If you're staying off-property most of the sit down restaurants will have the Princess Jewelry Box or Pirate Treasure Chest available. They are $15.00 each & come with a personal size cake, a few little trinkets inside a reusable box. You just need to let them know you want one when you check in for your meal. They also have goody-bags available for $4.99 or $9.99, also just ask.

Last year we got the Princess Bucket & the Sorcerer Mickey Bucket for our kids birthdays. They were $20.00 & the kids still talk about them & play with their buckets.

You also can pre-order a cake thru Disney Dining 714-781-3463 but cakes start at approx. $25 & go up from there.

If you are eating at a hotel restaurant, like GK, you can order a personalized cake for them with their names and favorite characters.
