Does anybody remember what is normally presented to kids for birthdays at Goofy's Kitchen? We'll be celebrating DS's 6th bday with some family who are in the local LA area one evening. I know that I could order the birthday buckets and even order a special cake. But, I don't know if I want to pay that much extra for buckets, and a cake isn't a big deal to him knowing that there is other desserts. Do they provide a cupcake with a candle, or is it simply CMs singing "Happy Birthday"?

I've also scheduled a breafast at Lilo & Stitch as a special something for DD11. It's for her un-birthday :-) since she really wanted to go to DL for her birthday in May, but we couldn't. What do they do there for birthdays? At 11, will she enjoy it, or will she roll her pre-teen eyes at me? :-)

This was a few years ago, but Goofy's Kitchen brought a cupcake with a candle and the characters sang Happy Birthday. I'm not sure about Lilo and Stitch. My 10 year old niece loved that breakfast, especially Stitch. I would think an 11 year old would still like it, but I guess it depends!

We celebrated DS 1st birthday with breakfast with Lilo & Stitch and dinner at Storyteller's Cafe. While both were great experiences (good food, and great character interactions), we received nothing "extra" or "special" because we were celebrating a birthday.

We've celebrated several birthdays at Lilo and Stitch breakfast. I just tell Disney Dining when I call to make the PS's that we will be celebrating a birthday and they ask for their name. I also remind the hostess when we're checking in. We usually get a little Mickey shaped brownie thingy with a candle and the CMs sing Happy Birthday. They also give you a special birthday button. It's different than the ones they give you at the park.

When we were in DL last week, my daughter got a birthday button the day before her birthday (a shop CM gave her one, I had planned on waiting until her actual birthday)

We had plans to eat at Goofy's Kitchen that night, so she still had the button on.

Goofy made a big deal over the button, and before we started eating he brought over a bowl of the worms and dirt from the dessert table for her.
She was also given a chocolate cupcake and the servers sang happy birthday to her after we ate.

Thanks for everybody's replies! I think DS6 will be thrilled with a cupcake with a candle and some extra attention from Goofy or any of the characters.

As for Lilo & Stitch, I think DD11 may be slightly embarrassed but still tickled with the attention.

You can also order a treat bag at Goofy's for $5 extra. It comes with a pin that says "I celebrated a birthday at Goofy's Kitchen" along with a foam puzzle and a few other things. When I called for PS I mentioned that it was for my DS's birthday and when we arrived, they already had balloons tied to the chair where my son was to sit. That was so much fun and he felt so special! The CM's brought out the cupcake and the Mad Hatter came over and sang Happy Birthday along with the CM's. My DS was so excited and I'll never forget the sheer look of joy on his face during that moment. It was priceless! I hope that you and your family have a wonderful time there.:yay:

I had a cupcake and candle and all of the singing at Goofy's Kitchen in September. They gave me a special Goofy's Kitchen birthday button, too.

I would suggest maybe calling to see what you can arrange to have done. I honestly wouldnt hope they do it cause it might be a let down if they dont do anything. Atleast this way you know there will be something.

Thanks!

Is this the same thing as the "birthday bucket"?
