I was wondering does anyone know if the magic kingdom does anything special for kids celebrating their birthday while they are they.

Yes,

You need to stop by "Guest Relations" desk (as you walk under the train station it is to your far left) and get a Birthday Button - each of the parks has a location to obtain your special Birthday Button - have your child wear his button and hopefully cast members - and possibly others- will wish him a Happy Birthday. Also, if you make dining arrangements make sure you mention the Birthday and Birthday Child. We did this a few years back for my neice's 5th Birthday. We did Breakfast at Crystal Palace - they decorate your table with special birthday decorations and you get to march in a birthday parade around the restuarant with the characters. At Liberty Tree for Dinner, my niece's table was also decorated beautifully, and she received special treatment from all the characters at dinner. Also received a birthday cupcake complete with candle. Make sure you mention the birthday at your resort also, the WDW resorts have a balloon and card sent to your child at the room if I recall correctly.

:cool1:

You might get some free fastpasses on some rides if they have on the B-day button.

Let a CM know during a parade and they might bring them into the middle of the street and have everyone sing to them.

OK.... Here's a predicament as far as birthdays go. We are planning a trip for Spring Break of 2007 which will put us at Disney World March 17th - 23rd. My DS will be turning three on April 4th so we may celebrate his birthday while at WDW. However, since we will be not paying for a pass since he will be two at the time we are there does anyone see any issues with celebrating his third birthday while we are there? :confused3

I give you a quick one before people start to flame

If your there to celebrate his B-day then do it .Get a button at each park it's a great keepsake.

After all Disney is the place of make-believe and Magic and

They have been celebrating DL b-day for 18 months around the entire world. So I don't think they would MIND AT ALL :lmao:

I have a question??? Has anyone celebrated their kids birthday or their own birthday at WDW or DL a few weeks after their birthday????

I was just wondering what everyone did and thought??? I hope I have not opened a bad can of worms asking this question????

Birthday not on the exact date - sure, as long as you are close to it.
Our DD's birthday is always 2 days before our vacation. So we do not have time for a party (she celebrates either weeks before or weeks after her real birthday) - So on day 1 at WDW, 3 days after her real birthday we celebrate.
She gets a birthday button (has a collection of them now - all the same one). We order a cake for her at dinner. We also order from the WDW florist. See below. So, it's 3 days late - but she has always enjoyed her birthday at WDW and with her friends 3 weeks later :)

Other ideas- but do cost some $'s

WDW Florist has wonderful gifts - not just flowers, to celebrate birthdays.
You can modify anyhting they have - add balloons, a disney plush, ect.

Check out their web-site &/or call them...

I posted also relating to this.. about Chef Mickey's & birthday & we did decide to celebrate it.. thanks to all my friends out there who helped me decide.

But... I have one little question more. I already made my adr's .. should I have told them then about the birthday for my son ? Think I should call back ?

thanks... sorry being a pain

We have two little girls going to Disney to celebrate there birthdays, we have made adr at 1900 park, does any one know if they will decorate the table. I am going to call them to order a birthday cake. Also I would like to get our room decorated with ballons and a bithday sign. Any help would be appreciated.

Even though I did not post the original question, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave ideas. We are going for our very first ever WDW vacation this November 12 - 17. My boys will be turning 5 and 7 on the 12th and 16th respectively. So we are definately going to do evrything possible to make it the best b-day ever! :cool1:

We were staying at the WL on my son's 16th birthday. I mentioned this to guest services when we checked in. That night there was a wonderful choco cake, plates & silverware & a birthday card in our room when we returned from the parks!!! So its worth mentioning at checkin. Of course this was in the summer of 2001 & things may have changed since then.

In 2000 I took a trip with my girls. We had ressies at Artist Point. I told them at check in that we were celebrating the youngest daughter's adoption, (which we were) I had wrapped her house key in a box and they gave her the cup cake and attention too. It was great! Those are still some of my favorite pictures from that trip.
