My DD Will Be 18 Just Before We Go To DW Next Time.We Would Like To Take Her Some Where Special Does Any Body Have Some Ideas.also We Would Like Her To Have A Cake With Eyeore And 18 On It ,can You Order Something Special.

Where will you be staying? Many of the deluxe resorts can have a cake personalized and delivered to your hotel room. If you plan on dining in the MK, you can order a birthday cake through the restaurant you're dining at or through the MK bakery. I have ordered my son a birthday cake with the characters from the Haunted Mansion on it. I'll post pics when I get back next month.

You can also book birthday cruises that leave from one of the MK resorts (GF, Polynesian, CR, WL) and many of these offer fireworks viewing from the lagoon. You can do a birthday Illuminations cruise from the Epcot resorts (YC/BC, BW).

You could take your DD to the Spa at the GF for a day of pampering.

There are special photo shoots you can book in the theme parks before the parks open. We did this at Epcot last year for our 5 year anniversary.

Hope some of these ideas help.

1) You can have a special cake at he restaurant.
2) Just call the restuarant at loeast 24-hrs in advance. *
3) Or, any restaurant can give a cupcake or 6" cake on short notice.

* Special cakes can no longer be ordered for character meals.

Since when? I was able to order a special cake for my DS's birthday at the Crystal Palace on July 22, 2006. I ordered it about 3 weeks ago. I will be calling to double check my order when we arrive at WDW. I also have a cake on order for my DD at 1900 Park Fare. It's their 10" cake with a white chocolate Cinderella topper complete with crown and slipper. So, since these are BOTH character meals and I have ordered cakes for my kids for both these meals, I don't know if you're info is 100% correct. I'm not trying to start a debate, I'm just telling you what I was able to do for our upcoming trip. :confused3

For the sake of my kids, I hope your info is NOT correct - I want those cakes at those character meals!

Please let me know if you were able to have the cakes that your ordered. My DD's will be both celebrating their birthdays while we are there and both have asked for character meals for dinner for their birthdays and I would like to order for them a special cake for their day.

OK - I sent a PM to the rustyscupper and this is what he sent back to me.

Please call to verify the cakes.
If they confirm, get the person's name for reference.
We got an email - no more character meal cakes.
Also on the character meal in the ressie system.

They were too hard to keep track.
Also, kids without cakes would cry.
They would think they deserved one.
This cut out a lot of these problems.

NOTE: This refers to special cakes or celebration activities. Each character meal does have frozen 6" cakes they can have available for people. This might have been the reference when you made the ressies.

Can you tell me if this is a new policy? And also the reason why you can't special order a cake at a character meal? Seems silly to me NOT to be able to, especially when you have these specialty bakeries at the GF, Contemporary, the Magic Kingdom and others.

Thanks!

Anne

I WILL be calling both the GF Private Dining Line and the MK Bakery Line tomorrow at 8am to question this! I find the reasoning a bit "out there," b/c it is every person's right to order a special cake if they want to and unfortunately, some people don't know about it but it is up to the parents to deal with their kids, NOT WDW management. This is just my opinion. I will be VERY upset if I learn that my cakes cannot be delivered at the character meals. And what makes a character meal any different than a sit-down like Tony's? Kids are kids are kids at ANY restaurant. If I want my kids to have a specialty cake and I'm willing to spend the $$$ on it, who is to say I can't have one? Any one else feel this way??

I love some of the ideas .Where can you book a special birthday cruise ,what does it entail. We will be staying at WLV and BCV and SSR .Also what special photos are at the entrance to the parks.

You can order a cake from the boardwalk bakery there is another thread on here that they asked the same question a few threads up an the one diser posted a pic of an aerial cake she purchased at the boardwalk bakery very nice! I'll see if I can copy it and show you.

If you order you're cake at the boardwalk bakery and you have no transportation you can goto epcot and leave by worldshowcase and talk the boat to the boardwalk which also makes stops at the beach club and swan / dolphin and mgm! and then you can take the boat back to epcot and take the cake where you like!

I tried to copy the picture but i can't! If you search Is it possible to get a Buzz Lightyear cake? there is a post in that thread that has the picture of the aerial cake i was talking about!

Please let me know if you were able to have the cakes that your ordered. My DD's will be both celebrating their birthdays while we are there and both have asked for character meals for dinner for their birthdays and I would like to order for them a special cake for their day.

I called this morning and spoke to both GF Private Dining and the MK Bakery and the answer from both was YES - you can order specialty cakes for the character meals. I confirmed both of my orders and all is well with them. We leave in 2 1/2 weeks - I will post reviews with pics when we get back! Hope this helps!!!!!!

Do you have a number for the special photo shoots? We are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on our trip in August and this is something I would be very interested in looking at!

Thanks for your help!

We did a photo shoot last summer in Epcot before the park opened. It was lovely being in WS with no one else!

However, my DH booked that and I will have to see if he has the number. Hopefully someone will have it posted before I get in touch with DH.
