Up at 7 am and out to the buses and to MK. Arrive at Mk by 8:30 am. Through security and the security person is a real pain. Wants me to take everything out of my purse and backppack. Looks through every pin and box. Questions my meds and syringe plus my tools for the wheelchair. Is irritated that I don't understand her speech. I finally tell her to get someone who signs and I'll explain to them anything she needs to know. Finally get through the line.
Go to CIty Hall and get reservations for Crystal Palace for dinner. Then we go searching for food. Not much open until 11am but we finally get some fruit at the Fruit stand iy Square. Go on Haunted Mansion. Ghost host was Steve. Had hoped to have him for Jungle Cruise but they moved him. Told me what to do as there was only one load person. Went and parked my wheelchair and since the line was short walked through. Saw Leota's tombstone. It is neat. Took a few pics of it. Then it was off to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Walked through that too. So far, so good. I'm a bit wobbly but doing ok.
Now it is time for Jungle Cruise. So I wait for the interpreter. I know it is Jennye because Brian told me yesterday. She gets there early so we chat a bit about home and school. She attended the same ITP I am in and had some of the same teachers. Jennye is really fun and knows my language mode well so interprets to fit is as I am the only one using her today. She alos mentions we need to save a spot at the parade and castle show for the mom of one of the other interpreters in case I get there before her and Brian.
Off to the Diamond Horseshoe. Brian and Jennye are interpreting this. It is fun. This one kid at my table was chosen to help the magician. It was a blast.
Next off to eat something and then the Riverboat. Brian interprets this. I have never been able to hear the spiel although I have been on it many times. Even brian has problems at times hearing the spiel from the speakers. In the lull we chat as well.
Next is the parade. I get in place and this lady in a wheelchair is upset because I move my wheelchair towards the Liberty Bell where the interpreters stand and she wants that area. I try to explain and she tells me to go over there then. Finally a castmember has her move and leave an area for the Deaf to stand. She is not a happy camper. She said something but the castmember would not tell me what so I assume it wasn't pleasent. Brian and Jennye arrive and help guard the area for the Deaf guests. Vince gets there on a break and then Tara comes bringing a Deaf guest with her. Vince and Tara leave but the Deaf guest stays so I have some company. Brian is so sweet. He sets out a towel for Jennye so she won't get her white pants dirty and can sit when he is interpreting. At one point Jennye is encouraging a little kid to go dance with the characters while Brian is interpreting. They switch off several times during the parade.
After the parade I go off to the castle and see the characters before the parade. Brian and Jennye are interpreting this. Vince and Heather join use to watch as well as the Deaf guest at the parade with me. Turns out she is also an interpreting student. So we have 4 of us intently watching the 2 that are interpreting. Also have on of the interpreters Mom there and 2 kids she is chaperoning in the parks for the day. She signs too.
Now I go looking for my husband. Can't find him. Vince comes running after me because he found him. Of course I don't hear him until he is almost to me. Jennye said she was yelling too but I never did hear her. Jim and I head of to ride Small World and then go to the Crystal Palace for dinner. Then it is time to go back to the room and study for my midterm.
