I don't know if anyone can help me, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a special day for my little boy, who will be 7 yrs old while we are away?
I am hoping to find somewhere that will acknowledge the fact that it's his birthday and make a bit of a fuss over him.
My eldest son went to Planet Hollywood in London on his birthday and he nearly died of embarrasment when the staff stopped the whole restaurant to wish him a happy birthday, I think it was the bit where they yanked him up on his chair that horrified him!!
Would they do the same at DTD's Planet Hollywood?
I have the type of lovely boy that is willing to join in with anything with a huge grin( not like his elder bother who can't loose face or street cred:smooth: )

At 'Ohana's all the waiter's sang Happy Birthday to my DH and brought him a cupcake and gummi worms :)

If you're at MK that day, call at City Hall on the way in and get a birthday pin. Make sure he wears it around the park and everyone will make a fuss of him!

Character meals are a good way of celebrating. We went to Crystal Palace for younger dd's 11th birthday and she loved it (although it was her first experience of a character meal, so that probably made it extra special). The CMs sang 'Happy Birthday" whilst the characters danced around (Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore at CP, so they can't speak!) and she had a cup cake with a candle and a card signed by the characters.

2 great ideas thank you.
I forgot about the pin from MK, I'll get one on arrival.

My DD Chloe was 10 whilst we were there last December. The Character Breakfast is fantastic for kids birthdays. We went to Chef Mickeys which was wonderful. She also got the full treatment of a name check and birthday cake in the evening at the Pirates Adventure dinner show. The best look on her face though was when she opened her cards and tickets for Discovery Cove fell out !!!!
Make sure your son lets everyone know its his birthday as there are lots of surprises all around the parks. We were queueing up for Catastrophe Canyon when the CM called DD up to the desk and said he had a phone call for her. When she picked up the phone it was Goofy singing happy birthday to her!!

The badge from city hall or from guest relations [thats were they gave it to us] is soo good when we were at the MK my wife wore one on her 40th and the amount of CM's and even complete strangers that wished her Happy Birtday made her day!!
