I have a daughter turning 15 during our Disney World trip! Is there anything special restaurants do for birthdays?

(We are eating at Le Cellier on her birthday)

You can note her birthday on your reservation and she may get a free cupcake.

Yes we had my dd bday in all of our ressies. She got a bday cupcake at almost all our meals (via Napoli and liberty tree tavern did not give her a cupcake). She turned 5 and at Ohana, akherus and crystal palace she got bday cards signed by all the characters.

She got a bday pin which she wore during our while stay and many cm and guests would wish her a happy bday.

She also got a bday welcome message in the room phone from mickey :)

Not to sound stupid, but how do I note that it's her birthday in the reservation?

You're not sounding stupid. You need to call and they will very nicely add that to your reservations. I have told them over and over ( also very nicely ) that it makes no sense when making reservations for resorts or ADRs on-line that there is no place to add that.

Thank you! That is very helpful!!

I'm wondering if MDE will make it all "automatic".

:confused3 I don't know what you mean ? I use MDE but this hasn't changed anything never could even before MDE

Meaning you wouldn't have to note Birthdays on your individual dining reservations. MDE collects all your info in one database. So theoretically, if you are visiting WDW during your birthday, the system would know it and display a message on the screen when you check in for a dining reservation.

We celebrated our DD 8th birthday during our trip, and are doing it again for her 10th this October. We called Disney a few days before we flew to WDW and ordered a birthday cake that they brought out to our dinner table on her birthday. She was soooo surprised! They give you a choice of cake, chocolate or white. Best wishes!!

I would give them a call and ask what your options are for a cake.

Cakes - Specialty Cakes
Dining Extras | Special Experiences
A custom cake can be the icing on your celebration. Choose from a variety of cakes and shapes, personalized for your special occasion. Just give us 72 hours advance notice so we can make your customized creation. Available at most table-service restaurants. To order any custom bakery cake, call the Walt Disney World Resort at (407) 827-2253. Requires advanced reservations.

Typically all Dw restaurants have an option for a small chocolate or vanilla cake you may add on for an additional fee, I believe it feeds 6 ppl. As for anything else bigger or a custom cake, Disney has a special occasions line that can assist you. We have went twice for dd birthdays, both took place at CRT and we had custom cakes brought to us, stating happy birthday with her name and a picture, candles of course too. We also added on balloons and a crystal tiara but I believe those you can only do at CRT. Other than the cakes.

We're headed to MK in a few days - 4/5ths of our party will have birthdays on the day we're visiting the park. Been searching through old threads for tips :)

You need to read the Cake Chatter thread over on the Disney REstaurants board. Lurkyloo does a magnificent job of keeping it up to date, has included amazing photos, and is endlessly patient in answering questions (over and over and over again!).

For my 30th DH, kids and I ate dinner at Le Cellier and he surprised me with an awesome cake- it was around 35$ and we had a ton left over! I loved it!!! also the restaurant gave me a signed card from all the servers that day. It was such an amazing experience.

You could let her spend the day however she wants. Don't forget to get her the button when you check in (if you are staying on site) or at your first park
