During our next trip, it will be our DS 4th birthday and our our DD 8th birthday.
We will be staying at the Poly. Has anyone had anything delivered to the room for birthday celebrations? (I hate to count on the resort doing anything on their own, as we were at the YC (in concierge of all things) for our DD 5th birthday this year, and they brought her balloons and a card from Tinkerbell A DAY LATE.)

I've used off site companies for gift baskets, as well as Disney Florist. Never had a problem.

I don't mean for this to sound the wrong way, but you are lucky your DD got anything. It's a free service that they try to provide for all of the guests, but it's really dependent on a number of things. For example, they have runners that deliver the items. If a runner was paged to pick up medicine for a sick guest, that would take priority over a free birthday card & balloon. I'm sorry you were disappointed that it was a day late, but sometimes things happen that are beyond our control.

We just got back from the Poly and DD4 celebrated her 5th bday while we were there. I asked concierge if they would send a card and balloons to our room so when we got back from the MK she would have a surprise. And they did - a card from Cinderella and 3 balloons - very nice. As the PP stated there are outside companies and individuals who you could have create a giftbasket or balloon bouquet for a price of course. Also - you could order a cake to be delivered to your room or for a sit down restaurant that you pay for. We did all the above it worked out well. Like PP stated if you definitely want them to receive something I'd order from an outside company.
