Birthday Suggestions

Hi there!

We will be at US/IAF from Dec. 25-28. My little guy turns 6 on 12/27. Do you have any suggestions for fun "extras" to help celebrate? We were thinking of the Grinch b-fast...

This is our first visit to US/IAF, as well as Florida, and we are staying at the Royal Pacific.

when you check into the RPH, let them know it is your son's birthday.

i can't say this always happens, but there is a chance staff will send up balloons for the birthday child.

did you have a notation on your reservation that you will be celebrating your son's birthday at universal?

cakes for a bd person have to be ordered and paid for in advance.


if you eat at city walk, be sure to let the server/wait staff know of the birthday. some places will do a special something for the bd person.


be creative and make him a hat or badge to wear to signify it is his birthday.


do go with the character breakfast.
if he is more into spiderman, go for that one.

Universal does have birthday stickers at Guest Relations, but they don't hold up well over a full day at the parks. I recommend getting one then sticking it on a button (any button will do). The sticker will stick to the button much better than to a shirt.

One birthday suggestion: Let him pick out his favorite shirt in the parks and let him wear it the rest of the day there.

Every year we try to have an "adventure birthday" since a birthday party with extended family and friends so close to Christmas just isn't in the cards. We were originally looking at WDW, but with the on-site hotel FOTL pass during such a busy time... Well, I just can't imagine anything cooler.

I'll be sure to submit a Trip Report with a first-timers view on Universal at Christmas time.
