We are planning a trip to Disney/UNI in Aug. :cool1: We will be there for DS' 9th bday on Aug. 20. I was trying to do something a little special for him, originally thinking of the Wishes Dessert Party, but it is already booked that night and I read mixed reviews about it. I asked him which park he wanted to be in that day, I suggested MK because I think it's the most "special", but then last night he said he may want to be in EP. I don't want to do anything extravagant, he doesn't even want people to know it's his bday (no singing waiters, etc.) WHAT? This can't be my kid - if MY bday is in Disney - the world would know!:rotfl: Anyway - just looking for something different and special to do - someone suggested fp+ for fireworks viewing, etc. The trip will be me, DH and DS12 along with the bday boy. Any ideas are appreciated!

When my son was about that age, I took him to WDW for his birthday. We had our birthday meal at Teppan Edo. They made a big deal of it being his birthday. He got a chef hat with his name in Japanese, got a dessert with a candle and they sang to him. It was about the right amount of celebration for him.

Does he like chocolate? Most, if not all, of the countries sell little chocolates. My nieces and nephew enjoyed sampling chocolates from "around the world". They also have illuminations cruises. You could do the Behind the Seeds tour. It's pretty cheap, and only takes an hour or so.
