So this is my first post to the boards at all. Guess I have to make it a good one.
My name is Amy and I'm a single mother of a wonderful 6 year old Aidan. He's been begging to go to WDW ever since I can remember, but financial restraints have prevented it in the past. I finally bit the bullet about a month ago and booked a trip for the end of September, which wonderfully coincides with Aidan's 7th birthday.
I'm a total type A personality so I started planning the second I booked the trip. I have our itineraries flushed out for the most part and all of our ADRs ready to go. His birthday cake is ordered. I still have to purchase MNSSHP tickets when they go onsale and am considering booking a Family Magic Tour for our last day in Magic Kingdom.
The only problem that I've encountered is booking my preferred time for Pirates League for Aidan. MNSSHP is most likely going to be on his birthday and I want to surprise him with a pirate makeover and tickets to the party. I was able to make an appointment for 9am but am hoping that an appointment later on in the afternoon will come available so that the makeup will still look new at the party that night.
I'm wondering if anyone has any small suggestions on special things that I can do for his birthday other than the party. I know about the in-room celebrations (we're staying at CBR in a pirate room), but they seem really expensive for a lot of things that will probably end up being thrown away.
