I believe the birthday buttons are free at guest services in the parks. It doesnt entitle you to anything except maybe some extra attention from the cast members. It can be fun to wear and have everyone wishing you a happy b-day!!
We just got back and celeberated my sister's birthday in Disney. You can go to Guest relations at the Parks and request a button. There are 3 different styles..The one at MCM and Magic Kingdom are the same. My sister wore hers on her birthday and got lots of special attention. The Mad Hatter was standing with Alice around the Tea cups and yelled at the top of his lungs that he had an announcement to make. Then he told everyone that it was my sister's birthday... and they should be extra nice to her!! She got to ride up front on the monorail and led the parade that the Pooh characters do around the Crystal Palace... They brought her a card signed by the characters and there was Mickey sparkles and ribbon on our table. ..Several cast members sang to her, and she got a birthday call from Goofy while she was shopping.
The best part of my DS's 4th birthday (I picked him up a pin and had a shirt made for him) was leading the parade w/Piglet at Crystal Palace. He had so much fun doing that. We are celebrating his 5th on DCL, I hope that it will be another to remember. I am going to make him a shirt to wear that day, as well.
The trip we are taking is for my mom's 70th b'day but we will not actual be there on her birthday. Does anyone know if I can still get her a pin for her. Can you get all four pins at the different places or just one? I really want this to be a special trip for her as I do not believe she will be making another trip like this.
Are there any other things I could do to make this special for her b'day.
There is a Guest Services office at DTD -- near the Basin store, I think. We just stopped in one night on the off chance that they might have one and they gladly gave a birthday button to DD who was celebrating her birthday that week. (yes -- a weeklong birthday celebration -- no need to worry about getting the button on the actual day.)
here too...its a big birthday for my mum and her birthday is actually in may...but we are going in december (holiday schedules at everyones work) but the trip is for her birthday....would we be able to get her one while we are there? do u need to show anything special to get it?
My trip in June was actually a 4 year overdue 21st Birthday trip. I went into City Hall at MK and asked for a pin and they gave me one. I wanted it for the sentiment not the attention so I just put it away. Had I known there was one for each park I would have gotten all of them. You shouldn't have a problem getting them for your mom on any day.
Thanks everyone for all the great advice. I went on the Disney Cruise for my birthday one year, and they gave me a pin and special attention, but I didn't know that the "World" would do that too. Disney is so great!
Last year i purchased a pin, not birthday themed, and recieved attention all over the parks after that. characters called me by name and signed my autograph book using my name. also, cast members asked questions and were very friendly (but i think that's just WDW for you)
