Hi~ I am new to this Forum, I have been a long time Disney fan. I am finding out new things (ie where to get the best deals etc..)about DL everytime we visit the park.

Now to my Q!
I am planning a trip for our son 2nd b-day from Feb12-15th his B-day falls on the 13th. I was told that if your in the park on your birthday you get some extra perks. I'm hoping that some of you know what they are? And where to go?

I am also having difficulty deciding on which resort hotel to stay at? Last year we spent one night at the DLH while passing thru to San Diego but would like to try out the GCH. But with a little guy I want the best hotel to fit his needs not mine! Im leading more towards DLH with all the extra's they have at the hotel. Any suggestions?

I plan on using AAA to book are there anyother places out there that may have better deals besides Costco?

Looking forward on chating more with everyone!

Hi and welcome to the board! I'm guessing that you are an R.N.? I live in WA too (about 50 mins. North of Seattle), and I am an R.N. also. We celebrated my D.S.'s birthday at Disneyland this past May and it was so much fun! We had brunch at Goofy's kitchen and I ordered the birthday bag for him. They also brought him some balloons, sang Happy BIrthday and brought out a cute little Mickey Mouse cupcake. Afterwards, we did the My Disneyland Birthday Party at the Plaza Inn and we loved it. ( I bought the birthday bucket for him at the Plaza In). Here is some info. on the party there as well as other things to do to celebrate a birthday at the park. The sticker that they mention is now a button. If you pick it up at City Hall, ask for the special phone to receive a birthday wish from Goofy!

Hi there - also from WA. I have just been looking at the various choices for booking. Costco is probably the best deal since you get $150 gift card for booking onsite plus the character brkfast and $20 gift card on top of the regular Disney package price. Alaska Air offers a bonus 1500 miles per person for booking on their site. The Kids Fly Free has a blockout date 2/14 to 2/18 so you could probably save a little planning a little earlier if possible.

I like the DCA (but not the price:scared: ) since I could push a stroller to the park. You can trade it in with the DL stroller when you get there if you want to. The DLH is great for proximity to the monorail but a stroller is a real hassle.

I 2nd all the Bday suggestions. The bucket is cool. The castmembers will say happy birthday all day with the button. The Birthday Party is great since Mickey is there and you can cross him off the hard to get picture list.

Have fun!

Thanks for that link that was very helpfuul! Yeah I'm an RN at a local hospital.

I will have to have take another peek at Costco again.

Some restaurants will have the whole restaurant sing happy birthday. The Mission tortilla factory gives a whole bag of tortillas to people wearing birthday buttons. DH and I got stickers from a janitor. Also most cast members will say happy birthday if they see your pin.
