Okay so today dd and I went to the birthday party with Pat E. Cake at the plaza inn in honor of her 7th birthday.
This was the worst event we have ever paid for at any Disney property. While I am a die hard DL fan - the DLR resort could really use some advise from thier WDW counterparts on how to host an event like this.
I thought it was lame. The premise of it is that you go to celebrate your birhtday. Pat E. Cake is your host. He goes around talking to people and making jokes. He made a bunch of cakes but did not decorate them. You get to do that. Each person is given a small cake, icing, and sprinkles. First you have to decorate the cake so Pat E Cake can look at it. Then the birthday people are invited up to the front to be sung to. Then Mickey and Minnie show up and they do a March around the room followed by a very, very brief oppertunity for a photo with Mickey and Minnie. Then you have like two minutes to eat the cake before you are given the boot.
The premise of the event is cute - which is why I paid $15/person for it. The CMs who carried it out were rude. They were rushing everyone and not letting kids finish thier cake. I would be willing to pay more (I have paid the $250 at WDW for the princess tea) to have a more relaxing fun event.
So I was just wondering what other people thought of this event.
