Okay....I am having DD's birthday party in just under 2 weeks and have to finalize the goody bags. She is having a "Wizard of Oz" theme at a gymnastics center with both boys and girls. So far I have - swirly lollipops, Juju hearts, and I'm planning on doing animal crackers with a tag that says "Lions, Tigers, and Bears - Oh My!!". What else can I add that's within the theme, but not too terribly expensive. I hate goody bags with the little trinkets that end up in the trash so I'm trying to go with consumables if that makes sense.

For my DS birthday party, I just made candy bar wrappers and taped them onto hershey's bars. Thats all they are getting from me!!!

I just did goody bags last weekend for DS5. I put in stickers, pad of paper, pencil, tootsie rolls and a small container of play-doh. I also hate the bag of goodies that end up in the trash. Hopefully mine did not. :)

print out WoOz pix from the computer. Get a sheet of sticky back magnets from Dollar tree. Cut a piece of construction paper a bit larger than your photo and glue it behind the pic like a frame. Cover it in contact paper and stick magnet on the back.

I also like the idea of chocolate bar covers, or for our HSM party we did microwave popcorn covers

Have fun!

For my dd's parties, I usually hit The Dollar Tree and find a book that matches the theme of the party. If nothing is available, I find interesting age appropriate books. On the inside cover, I write "Thank you for coming to my 4th (for example) Birthday Party." Along with the date and my dd's name. The book, some candy, and a small amout of 'throw away junk' is all I give. (funny straws, colors, note pads, etc.)

I personally think children need as many books as possible. :goodvibes

:scared1: When I first read this I thought you said "I try to find a book of matches" :lmao: I was thinking who gives kid's matches as a party favor. :rotfl:

I love giving pencils. Maybe you could find some red glittery pencils or some Wizard of Oz-themed ones.
