We're planning to be at DHS for my birthday :yay: and I was told to pick out a restaurant. I'm not a huge fan of the TS restaurants at the Studios and we can't go over to another park because not everyone in our party has a park hopper.
So, I was thinking a resort near DHS would be a good option.
Our party is me, my DH, DD(17), parents, brother, SIL and niece(3) and nephew(5).

I was thinking Beaches and Cream, any other suggestions?

HBD was good at HS

IF venturing out, Yachtsman was great.

Both of these may be a bit more expensive than Beaches & Cream.

Beaches and Cream is quite small; maybe 10 tables. There's usually quite a line waiting to be seated since they do not do reservations and the place sits by the Storm Along Bay pool. With as many people as you are wanting to dine together, this is not a place I would suggest.

Have you considered Kouzzina on the Boardwalk? There's also Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan, Big River Grille at the Boardwalk, Fresh at the Dolphin and the Captains Grille at the Yacht Club. These all serve lunch.

Your options for dinner are much greater if you want to spend more. I have tried them all and recommend either Il Mulino at the Swan or Flying Fish on the Boardwalk.

I know you are not too keen about TS at SDHS, but for lunch, you might want to think about 50s. We have had many good times there for lunch.

Pakey mentioned great options. Something else is the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe at BC. You could have a late breakfast and then head on to DHS.

Cape May offers a "Clam Bake" buffet @ dinner time. The menu doesn't just have seafood... lots of other choices too. We've done breakfast @ Cape May 2x now and it's our favorite breakfast spot!! We're trying the dinner buffet when we go in September... DH and oldest DD are big seafood fans, while myself and youngest DD are less adventurous. My sister and her family ate here in December and they said that everything they tried was fabulous!

Good luck!

HBD is wonderful! I'd choose to go there w/o hesitation. If you don't want to spend that much, & are looking for something along the lines of B&C, you could try The Fountain @ Dolphin Resort. It's similar to B&C w/o the seating issue.

Sounds like you are looking for a casual spot. B&C is way too small for your group. I would suggest the Captains Grille at YC. Casual and laid back. Food is good! IMO The Yachtsmen is a great place to celebrate! Expensive but after all it is your birthday! :)
Wherever you go I hope you have a happy brithday:cheer2:

Thank you all for the great suggestions! I talked it over with the family and someone suggested Hollywood & Vine. I happen to love it there because of the variety, but I haven't been there since our last trip in 2007. Any thoughts?
