Hi,

When we had a birthday cake 2 years ago in Inventions.. we had a character come with the cake and they played a birthday song where everyone clapped.

Last year we had a cake and they didn't play the song.. the waiters just sung happy birthday.

Can anyone who's had a cake in inventions recently tell me what they do now?

Thank you :thumbsup2

hiya!

me and mum had a birthday meal at inventions with the cake, was my 21st and mums 50th this was in may this year

never done it before so i dint know what to expect but my word i will never forget it

they played a really funky song (which ive got) called happy birthday to ya song, all the staff cheering and waving napkins in the air, even some of the people in the resteraunt were joining in.
and then pinocchio turned up and came to presnt our cake. was just amazing,
when we went they wrapped it in cling film and a fabric napkin so we could take it back to the room

the cake itself...was so worth the £15, we had the chocolate one never seen a chocolate cake like it...it did take a few days to eat, it was sooooo yummy.

Thanks for your reply.. that sounds like the song they played the first time so thats fab :thumbsup2 That was exactly how it was for us the first time we had a cake there too.. makes the birthday person feel really special. :wizard: Glad you had a lovely time.

What a shame ~ didn't the characters even join in? :confused3

Yes we had a character the second time.. but it felt a bit more rushed.. I think because they just sung happy birthday, whereas the song goes on for longer. :confused3 so its good to hear it sounds as though they still play the song. :)

as far as i know its the same, as we had evening buffet there and a little boy had a cake while we were there, and they did the song clapping etc, we all clapped along aswell though the characters werent there as it wasnt character time there.

they did take the cake away with them aswell

Have a look here. They don't seem to be doing character breakfasts at Plaza Gardens anymore though, only at Cafe Mickey ~ there is also an excellent character Sunday Brunch at The Steakhouse in the Village on Sundays 12pm-3pm.

Basic summary:

Character Breakfasts: Cafe Mickey, Disneyland Hotel if you're staying there

Character Lunches: Cafe Mickey, Lucky Nugget, Auberge de Cendrillon, Steakhouse on Sundays

Character Tea: Plaza Gardens

Character Dinner: Cafe Mickey, Lucky Nugget when park is open late, I think Auberge de Cendrillon when park is open late, Inventions at Disneyland Hotel.

thanks for th information on that

mum has booked us the tea party at 3 at plaza gardens the women takin our bookin said it was best time because parade is straight after is this correct?

I thought the parade was at 7.15pm when you are going (I'm looking at your ticker).

Does she mean the character train parade? :confused3

im not sure the women just sed that after we have had our tea it would be time for the parade we booked it in february though so may be it has all changed and she wasnt aware of the parade times changing

Thats probably why.
We were there in February, went to the tea party from 3.30. The main parade was at 4.00 I think - we caught the last half of it by rushing down through the arcade which runs parallel to main street. But we had already seen it the day before :goodvibes .

There were about 6 birthday cakes came out when we were at the character tea party at the Plaza Gardens. A girl next to us had one. They got the nearest characters coming over to their table when the birthday song was sung to them, the cake (to keep) and a cuddly birthday Minnie (I think she sang too?).

Ware Bare, where do you find out what time the main parade is on? I'm going to be there from Weds 3rd to Friday 5th October - any links to where I can find out what time the main parade will be then?

The best place to look is DLRP Magic site. They seem to update times/dates much quicker than the official site but at the moment it is only showing up to end August.
I would assume after the summer season ends the parade will probably go back to the earlier time of 4.00

That's where I look too. :thumbsup2 The park hours for October are up here but the parade times are only up until end August so far, see here.

I'm also assuming the parade will revert to the time of 4pm.
