Hi everyone,

It's my birthday whilst we are away & I was wondering if anybody knows if there's anything "special" we could do while we're there.

We're probably going to be in MK on my actual birthday, and we're staying on International Drive. It's my DBFs birthday the day after too so I was wondering if anybody knows of anywhere nice we could go to eat on the night? We won't be driving so it'd have to be somewhere we could easily get to.

I know being in MK on my birthday should be special enough, but I'd just like us to do something extra

TIA

I'm there for a birthday in September too :)

I heard if you mention it's your birthday at guest relations you get a pin/badge you can wear that day

We stayed in the Rosen Centre Hotel which is on the South part of IDrive, it is supposed to have a really top class restaurant. We didn't eat there but I have read excellent reports on the 'posh' restaurant, we only ate in the normal restaurant there and the deli.

A lot of IDrive restaurants are chains so I wouldn't really say they are special places to eat. I would have suggested going to a restaurant and then going back into Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks which are spectacular but I wouldn't fancy trying to get back to IDrive at that time of night without a car. Watching the fireworks at either MK or Epcot would be a memorable finish to your birthday.

Indeed, go into guest relations and get yourself a birthday badge, wear it and CM's will be extra specially nice to you ALL day....

Are you doing any special meals on your birthday in the MK?

You could celebrate with a character meal pooh:

Thanks for the replies everyone :thumbsup2

I was going to book us a table at CRT, but we're going in less than 180 days so I'm not sure how much chance I would have of getting one now :confused3 Plus, I don't actaully have a credit card & I wont have one until about 6 weeks before we leave, so even if I did get a reservation I wouldn't be able to pay it until then :sad1:

I guess I'll get the badge & watch the fireworks before we leave.

Thanks again :flower3:

You could just try ringing up and seeing what they say. I have never bothered with ADRs simply because I never want to tie us to being in a particular place at a particular time so I don't know anything about booking them. I would have thought, however, that if you have to give a credit card number to book it no charge is made on it unless you don't cancel by their deadline which is what hotels do. They may take debit cards if you have the visa type of one.

We have 3 bithdays during our trip for the wedding in a couple of weeks time, two of the birthdays are a day apart and we have booked a fireworks cruise for wishes. The 3rd birthday is on Labor Day and we've booked the backstage tour at Sea World. If you wanted to something special at MK then they do behind the scenes tours as well

Have you tried any of the other MK restaurants? I know they're not quite as special as CRT but i'm sure it would still be a nice meal :goodvibes There are also the MK resort restaurants (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary) which you can easily reach on the monorail. This link has a restaurant list and menu info:

I think we paid around $30-40 for a taxi from WDW to I-drive in 2002, not bad just a for a one off.
