Hi,
We are visiting Florida for a month in April, and while we are there it is my sons birthday and he'll be 3. We are planning to do chef mickey at the contemporary resort for breakfast as we've seen the birthday celebration they give and thought it was great.
Has anyone got any suggestions for special birthday dinner Disney or non Disney?
Also any other suggestions for making he's day special while we are there?
Thanks!
ps: No eyeore involved please... for some reason he has become VERY scared and reaks out whenever he sees him?!

Are you staying in a Disney property? If you are, make sure you tell Guest Services at least a couple of days in advance of the date of your son's birthday. My son got a bunch of helium balloons and a birthday card from Mickey Mouse. Make sure you tell them what age he will be as the card will say something like "Happy 3rd Birthday from your pal Mickey" (or something like that). Also, make sure you visit Guest Services in whichever Disney park you visit that day, you will be given a birthday badge and every Disney CM (staff) will say happy birthday to him.

Have a great time. A whole month - WOW!

Chef Mickey's is great!

Definitely get him a birthday badge at Guest Relations of whatever park you're at that day, I think often you get a lot of attention from CMs when you have one of these.

And welcome to the Disboards :) :)

we have had some fun birthday evenings at Ohana's - also I can imagine that the Whispering Canyon Cafe would be fun for a birthday dinner... so long as you remember to ask for the ketchup. My 3 yr old was very perplexed when 18 bottles of ketchup turned up on our table.

Also, if you plan to be at one of the parks.. then the Liberty Tree is a great character meal in the evening, that would be fun.. or imagine having dinner at the castle... your little prince would surely be made a fuss of there!!

MGM, Primetime would be fun for a birthday.. or The garden grill restaurant at Epcot.. it revolves and is a character dinner (I think it still is!)

Be sure to let them know when you book its a birthday treat... and then just hope for added pixie dust!

Thanks very much for all your replies and ideas, We are staying at a property my parents have just bought in Cleremont about 15 mins away from WDW but I have stayed at the Poly, Caribbean Beach, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk several times so I familiar with alot of the restaurants in the resorts. The Liberty Tree tavern sounds good as we were planning to spend he's birthday in the Magic Kingdom.
Thanks for the welcomes but i am not entirely new as I was a member in the months leading up to Magic cruise in Nov 03, but have since had a baby and seem to have lost some brain cells as i have no memory of what my login was let alone my password!
Thanks again x

LOL! :rotfl2: I know exactly what you mean - I blamed childbirth for my rapidly disappearing memory. Trouble is, I'm sure I lose a few more brain cells every time DDs have another birthday and, as eldest is 20, that's a lot of cells gone somewhere ;)

Yes! Definately go to Whispering Canyon Cafe with a birthday badge on! They will make a fuss of you, no matter what age you are!

I celebrated my birthday there and got sung Happy Birthday by the whole restaurant, a candle in my dessert and was tasked with handing out the winners certificates for the hobby horse races.

Oh, and I was twenty seven years old at the time! So, I'm sure they make a child feel even MORE special!
