My son will be turning 4 the week we are at Disney & my Mother will be turning 54 the same week! What are some ideas to make their birthdays at Disney extra magical?

I don't mean this in a snarky way (you are new- welcome!). But there are a LOT of threads about this same topic. Try doing a search for some of those threads and you will find lots of ideas.

Some simple ones are to pick up a free birthday button from guest relations at any park, make a special t-shirt, let them pick the attractions and shows for the days, book a special meal like a character buffet, if you have money to burn book something special through "Gifts of a Lifetime" or have flowers delivered to your mom or decorate her room, or her hotel door. Lots of ideas..a search will give you many more.

Maybe let each of them choose a special meal. Get them matching birthday hats or mickey ears or shirts.
You can add the celebration to your ADRs but they do less than in the past so if you want a special dessert, you may want pre-order one. How special this trip will be!
