My dd11 has a bday in the end of February. This would not usually be a problem - but this time I am due to have a baby the same week as her bday!

Usually we have a fun sleep over and games, movie,...etc. This year, we do not want to do a sleepover - just in the strange coincidence I do go into labor. I don't want to deal with a bunch of little girls and getting them home while I am in labor! :) We thought about having her bday earlier...but you never know with babies when they will come! (my dd11 was 6 weeks early, so you never know!)

So - any creative or fun ideas for a bunch of 11 and 12 year olds to do for a bday party in about 3-4 hours?

Thanks!

I had a movie party. We all went to the movies, brought goodie bags and then maybe if its at a mall let each girl get 5$ or something. Or do something like we had a paint the town, which is where you make a personalized plate/cup or whatever it was really fun. Maybe a surviver theme. We went into teams of about 5 each. We had a dance off, contests (Like who could stand on a foot for the longest, sing the school tune to your boy neighbor on the phone) and such and the winning team got prizes. Then we just played tag and ran around. It was really fun.

Thanks, Lil Tink - it is nice to her the perspective to someone close to my dd's age!

Still rounding up ideas - any more?

my DD is turning 12 in 16 day and she is having a scrapbook party - I let her invite 4 girls and got some cheap books at target in the dollar spot , got some papers and stickers on sale at Michael's & AC Moore, got some stamps and a stamp pad and they can use my markers..

Oh - I Love this idea! dd and her friends are really into scrapbooking right now! I will run idea past her. thanks!

I would keep it simple yet fun..

Maybe rock-n-bowling (where they turn on blacklights and such) for 5-10 of her friends...

or something more grown up by taking same amount out for dinner to a nicer restaurant (macaroni grill, or something like that)

or you could do hair and nail party (but this gets expensive with more than a couple kids).

I was going to say the scrapbooking idea as well.
Some more ideas
- Rent a lemo for the girls have have them drive around for an hour. Get all the girls to get dressed up nice and put on makeup if they want.
- Have a make your own sundae or cookie decorating table set up.
- Do a movie theme idea. Rent a movie everyone would like and make popcorn, nachos etc. Do "treat bags" with glow sticks, glow in the dark stars and candy or buy them each there own popcorn bucket/bowl. You could also have a red carpet and have them dress up as movie stars. Here are two website for more movie ideas

- Have a summer in Feburary theme. Get them in wear hawaiian shirts, serve punch etc.
- Have a baking party where the kids can make your daughters cake and then they could make other things to take home. Then let them pig out. If you can find aprons at a good price you could let them decorate them with felt pens. They could also bake individual pizzas for supper.

We are going to do Build a Bear for our DD's 11th bday in January. I'm even going to do one for myself - FUN! We will probably do lunch at a restaurant either before or after.

Build a bear is a great idea as well. Just set a price limit for each girl. Then if you daughter wants she can make a bear for her new sister. They just opened one here and I made one for my little cousin.

Boy - now I am going to have a hard time picking just one idea! :goodvibes

our local gym will let you rent the pool w/lifeguard for an hour and then the party room for an hour for 30 kids and its only $75. We invite the whole class and the kids have a great time with no clean-up.

I'll go for the limo idea. Let them ride around town and stop at a pizza joint for dinner and/or a movie and have the limo pick them up afterwards. Just make sure the place you pick is packed so they will get a bunch of folks watching them. Girls will love the attention.

I don't know where you live but do they have a libby lu near you? I am not sure if 11 is too old for that or not?
