Does anyone have any good ideas for celebrating a birthday while at WDW? My DN will be turning 6, he LOVES Power Rangers, but as far as I know they do not have any character meals with them. Is this correct?

For those of you who have celebrated birthdays there, what have you done? What does Disney do for the bday boy? Any suggestions, comments or ideas will be greatly appreciated!!! :sunny:

TIA

Perhaps you can book the Pirate cruise for him. My son loved it.

Chef Mickey's is a great restaurant to celebrate your birthday too.

Not that this solves your problem but we have seen the Power Rangers in MGM before.
We will definitely be on the lookout for them in MGM!

Can you tell me anymore about this? Is this something just for kids or can we all go?

They have a pirate cruise leaving from the Grand Floridian, one from the Yacht Club (the kids go to Epcot before the World Showcase opens) and I think one from Port Orleans. Only the children are allowed to go, but they are well supervised and they give the parents a pager. The cruise is about two hours and they get a snack on board and come back with loot and pirate ears. My son is a little shy, but they put him with a buddy and he had a blast.

My DS also LOVES Power Rangers, and the last time we went for the PR meet and greet, we brought along a PR t-shirt for all the Rangers to sign. I bought it a Target for like $6.00.

DS loves it! He wears it almost every night to sleep in!

We also splurged on the nicer gold autograph book so that he could put a picture of himself and each Ranger on the page with the autograph.

Other things we've done for his birthday are a breakfast birthday party at Chef Mickey's, along with a park of his choice all day. This is usually AK, and we end the day riding Kali River Rapids over and over and over, and then have dinner at RFC complete with the
V-O-L-C-A-N-O for dessert! (very important to bring a change of clothes for after Kali!)

We've even spent SEVERAL hours of the day in the arcade of whatever resort we're staying at just letting him play games all day..one of his very favorite things to do!

They also have a birthday cake hat that has candles that light up! We go for DS b-day every year, and we always take it with us for him to wear..let me see if I can find a picture!

I brought my DD to celebrate her 7th bday in May. We did the Leave a Legacy thing at Epcot. We had our photo taken and it will be added to the granite pillars in the front of Epcot. I think it $25 for a photo of 2 people. They said it takes up to 6 months for the photo to go up but I'm really hoping it doesn't take that long and will be up when we go in August.

All the parks have birthday buttons that you can get at Guest Services.

I mentioned it a checkin at Pop and they did have a card from Snow White and baloons in the room when we got back on her bday. They also left a voice mail message from Mickey & Minnie singing Happy Bday. Also a CM at USA in Epcot noticed her bday button and had Goofy call her on the phone to wish her a Happy Bday.

At my DD's request we had dinner at Crystal Palace. I didn't order a cake as it was only the 2 of us. The waitress did bring a cupcake and the whole place sang Happy Birthday. It was a very special day/trip!

We just celebrated my DD's 6th birthday at the Contemporary in March! We started out with room service breakfast. I brought down Mickey birthday papergoods and decorated the room while she was asleep. I told room service it was her birthday and they sent a bunch of balloons up with the food. After breakfast we went to the MK and got her hair done at the barber shop. This is fun for boys as well! Of course we stopped and got her birthday button so all day long she heard 'Happy Birthday!' On the train she got to be the guest conductor and announce 'all aboard' over the intercom. We basically let her choose what she wanted to do that day. That evening we were supposed to be having her birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's but she was so tired, she ended up taking too long of a nap and I didn't want to wake her, so the rest of the family went without us. I ordered room service for myself and made her a pb&j sandwich when she woke up...some birthday dinner! I may have risked waking her up to try Chef Mickey's if it weren't for the real birthday treat later that night, a Wishes fireworks cruise! That was incredible! We had her birthday cake on the boat and sailed all around Bay Lake and the lagoon. When we got back to the room, there were more balloons and a card signed by Pooh & friends. It was all fabulous, definitely a birthday we will not forget!
