We are going on our first trip "home" as DVC members in April and will be celebrating my son's third birthday at Disney World! Any suggestions on how to make it special? Places to eat? Things to do? Thanks so much for your help.

We're going next month, and DS will turn 3 while we're there. Having been to a large number of character (and other) meals at WDW, we asked where he would most like to go. He chose Crystal Palace, so that's where we're headed! We're going to get him a birthday button, but nothing else really special that we're planning on doing. Geez, isn't being at WDW for your birthday special enough??? :D

Have fun!

My sister-in-law left gifts in the room with a note to the mousekeepers & a tip to have them set out a gift from Mickey! I think she did it for several days...just small packable stuff. I wonder if there are any florists that would deliver balloons and you could have the staff put them in your room? I know my son would just love that too! I need to call Chef Mickey's & see if they have a cake that looks like Mickey, that I could order. My son would love that...he turns 3 on the Feb. 15 while we are at Disney. I would love lots of ideas too! :D

We just got back from celebrating our daughters 5th b-day at WDW... If you are staying on-site tell guest relations at the front desk that your child is having a b-day while you are there. (note: they said at least 24 hours notice cause they need to go to park and get the signature) I did and they asked what her favorite character was.. When we got back to our room that night there was a signed personalized card with a picture of Ariel and three balloons.. I also left a tip and a note for mousekeeping and they made "animals" out of washclothes..

We also bought her a tiara from our local Party City that had a b-day cake on top with 5 candles that said b-day girl.. She wore that to MK and got tons of attention!!! Even got to ride a couple rides twice. You can also visit guest relations at the park you visit that day for a free button and a b-day phone call!

Where ever you decide to go for dinner that night should be able to do something special for his b-day. We went to Tony's at MK and they announced her b-day and she got a sundae..

We celebrated DD's third birthday at the world in September. We also had told the front desk of the occasion upon check in and to our surprise one evening upon our return Mickey and Minnie had left an autographed picture and birthday card along with three multi colored balloons that said Happy Birthday on them. Also, a character, ours was Goofy, can call and wish you a happy birthday. The front desk can give you a number that you call to get the message from Goofy, just in case you miss his call ;) . We had flowers delivered to the room from www.disneyflorist.com they were in a mickey mouse chair that we have back at home now with a plant in it. We had planned a special dinner with the princesses at the GF complete with the castle cake and glass slipper specialty desserts, but had to cancel due to Hurricane Jeanne. Hope some of these ideas help. By the way, disney florist has gift baskets too with snacks and toys as flowers probably would not appeal to a DS as much as they did to our DD who only asked for pink, yellow, and purple flowers for her birthday present!

We celebrated our son's 5th birthday at the Crystal Palace. He and the 2 1/2 year old had a great time!! The characters (The Winnie the Pooh group) came to each table. They are very LARGE characters and some kids screamed and cried. We got some great pictures as well!!
