Birthday ideas at Disney!

YIIPPPEEE Two weeks and two days until our trip to Disneyland! My baby girl will be celebrating her second birthday at Disneyland. I have been given some advice on how to celebrate...please let me know if I am missing anything.

1) Doing a character dinner for a party of 13 at Goofy's kitchen.
2) Getting her the "It's my birthday badge" from Town Hall.

Any thoughts on how to make her birthday more special?

Wow, I'm a newbie at this when it comes to birthdays and being at Disneyland. I was just getting lunch at the Blue Bayou and spending the day at the park. I heard about a birthday bucket food thingy in the Blue Ribbon Bakery. It sounds like your daughter will have a total blast! The Disney characters love catering to young children. That's so awesome! When's her birthday exactly? Mine's August 27. Hope you all have fun!

There's a birthday party at the Plaza Inn. They decorate their own cakes and get juice and Mickey or Minnie come by for birthday pics. For her age this would probably be fun. They also have birthday buckets. I think they have a princess one. You can order it for certain restaurants.
Brina 78 That's my youngest son's B-Day. He'll be turning one.

We are celebrating my 4 year old daughters birthday this Saturday at the park. We are going to start off with goofy's breakfast (you can get a bucket here), then head over to the park. We will be doing the cake decorating thing at the plaza inn, then we will go to the new princess dinner. After that, we will watch the fireworks, and then go to watch fantasmic for the dessert buffet from the balcony. The Grand Californian (where we are staying) is going to get her balloons and an autographed picture of her favorite princess, and at this late hour, I am still debating with myself over getting her a cake made to eat at her princess dinner, or if I should just call it good with the cake she will be making at the plaza. By that time, we will have hit almost all of the rides between the two parks, so for her birthday, we are going to let her pick the rides!

btw - she will be dressing up as Ariel or snow white for breakfast and the princess dinner. I talked her out of dressing up to go to the park. I heard several stories here about how miserable it is for them when they start sweating in those costumes.

Does anyone have any fun ideas for an adult's birthday at DL? My mom is turning 50 and we'll be celebrating at DL's 50th birthday, and while that in itself will be special, I want to make this a super memorable trip for mom.

Make sure you take her into City Hall in the morning to get her birthday sticker and her special birthday phone call. She will be wished happy birthday all day by CMs.

How about the new 50th Anniversary Tour? Gold ears with your Mom's name embroidered on them? You could have tshirts made with a cute saying about your Mom and Disneyland both celebrating their 50th Birthday this year.

Oh, yeah, that's some awesome ideas for someone turning 50! How cool to celebrate in a park celebrating the same milestone! Woo-hoo! Too bad we couldn't do that for our mom. She turned 50 in 2001. Aw, well! My uncle turned 50 this year on March 2nd, but I'm not sure if they went to Disneyland to celebrate.

Oh, and thanks for the link, Kayla's Mom! I can almost picture myself peeling off the sticker at one point during the day. One can only handle "Happy Birthday!!!" so many times before they lose it!

I will look into each and every one of your suggestions. Her birthday is September 1st. We will be at the park with a three day hopper and staying at CCI. She is so excited, she jumps around when she sees the 50th anniversary commercials on t.v.

We live in No Cal so should be a quick 5 hour drive depending on what time of day we leave.


Been to Disney too many times to count but I have never been to GCA (is that the proper abbreviation?) Last time at DL July 2000.

My husband is turning 30 on Aug. 30th. It's a special birthday! I want to do something special for him. We are going to Disneyland on his birthday and I want to know if anyone has any ideas for me. We are AP holders and go all the time and we have been on our birthdays before. I was thinking about maybe doing a tour and a special meal. We have never done a character meal. I thought that might be fun. We love Disney!!!!! I thought about ordering a cake for him. My parents and our Godson who is 2 1/2 may be going too. Let us know if you have any special ideas. I am taking my daughter for her 5th birthday at the end of October. I know I will get her a birthday bucket and do a character meal. I have been toying with the idea of taking her to the Build A Bear shop.

I am gonna be in DL for my bday Oct. 15. Just booked the trip this morning. We were supposed to go to New Orleans . What kind of cakes can you get? I know in WDW you can get Cinderella's slipper and a mini wedding cake. I would love to get something like that. I'll be 26 but am a kid at heart.

Stitch, I believe that Blue Bayou will make a special dessert for you if you call ahead. Not sure what it is, but I remember one of my friends was presented with something special when her husband proposed in the restaurant (he arranged it in advance).

We even mentioned it to our waitress that it was my daughters 16th birthday, and nothing. Not even a Happy Birthday or anything. When I made the reservation, they said she would probabley get a cupcake or something like that. Since my daughter didn't know I was told about a cupcake, she wasn't disappointed. I was just a little suprised.

We had the same problem. We had noted on all our PS"S that we were there celebrating our youngest's first birthday(in our family this is a big deal) and our other son's seventh. They had the birthday stickers and even birthday shirts we made. We even went to the birthday party at the Plaza Inn. All the places we went, nothing. We mentioned it every time we checked in as well. We even had to remind them at BB about the boys' birthday buckets. Noone wished them a Happy Birthday or sang to them. (Except obviously at the party) While we enjoyed DL for the rides and the fact that it's Walt's Park. We loved it so much we got APs. I think when we want pixie dust and magic, especially for special occassions, we'll go to WDW. (The park we went to growing up.) By the way, this is just our experience and take on things.

I celebrated my b-day this year at Blue Bayou back in July. The waitors/waitresses sang to me and gave me a scrumptious chocolate mousse dessert with a candle in the middle. I'm not sure if their desserts are always the same. The previous year they gave me chocolate cake.

I agree with you, birthdays feel like holidays so might as well treat it like one! Hope you have fun!
