My family I are new members to the DVC and we will be taking our first trip in 1/04. Our first day in (a Sunday) will be my son's 5th birthday.

Any suggestions for making his birthday extra-special while staying at BCV?

Thanks in advance for your help!:jester:

Let MS know you are there to celebarte his 5th b-day. When you make PS's for restaraunts- do the same thing. When we are at WDW for someone's b-day- we always ask when we reserve if they can have a small b-day cake waiting in the room on check in. They always have had it- may be delivered a little later- like the next day, and usually there are balloons and a card signed by the b-day person's favorite character! If there is any charge- it is minimal- but so far we've never been charged. Make sure you pick up a b-day badge at MK too- he'll get al kinds of special attention with that.

I should add- these arrangements have been made prior to my DVC days- I don't know if that would change what happens or not!

If you are staying in concierge at a hotel, you might get special things. It was my birthday a few weeks ago. While in AKL, I got a few special things. At stores and restaurants, I got a few special things. Nothing at BCV. Except I got a lot of "Happy Birthday"s since I was wearing either a birthday pin or two, plus at times, the light up birthday cake hat. (it's heavy!! )

We celebrated my DD's 4th b.day last month at VWL. I told the front desk about the birthday, and they asked for her favorite character. Minnie Mouse sent her balloons and an autographed card with a photo. Very cute. They didn't arrive on the right day, but we didn't care.

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and I mentioned her b.day both when I made the ressie and at check-in. They gave her the pin to wear that said something like "Today is my birthday," and she got a laminated placemat signed by all the characters at CM's, and a cupcake.

We spent the day at the MK, and she was wished happy b.day countless times. It was fun, too, to see other people wearing their b.day pins. Some CMs went completely out of their way to stop what they were doing to talk to the "b.day princess."

We did the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot earlier in the week and kids at the next table were celebrating b.days. They got troll cookies to decorate and were given a blank placemat for the girls to sign.

I bet Donald's Breakfastasaurus would be REALLY fun on b.day!

We just got back last night from our trip!! We took my nephew, who turned 12, on the Birthday Illuminations Cruise. It was a little pricey ($220), but it was WONDERFUL!! You cruise around the lagoon for about 45 minutes with the boat decorated with balloons and a huge Happy Birthday banner. When you dock under the bridge to watch Illuminations, the captain brings out the cake (that you pre-order) with a personalized Happy Birthday, and you sing happy birthday and he cuts the cake (which is awesome) and you enjoy the show!! (drinks and snacks are also included) It was truly and amazing cruise and a lot of fun!!! I would highly recommend it!! We also had my 5 year old, and my sisters 4 year old and 13 year old on board and they all LOVED it too!! We also did Chef Mickeys and they gave my nephew a button, a personalized placemat, and sang Happy Birthday. Make sure you get Happy Birthday buttons at every park and they will give greetings and happy birtadays all day long!!! Have fun!!
