Hi, just thought I'd pass along what we did for my daughter's 5th birthday party. (She's 7.5 yo now).
The Theme: CINDERELLA'S DRESS-UP TEA PARTY!
We invited 12 kids (2 were boys).
Fancy Foo Foo girly party with lots of Cinderella themed items.
For months I searched around second hand shops for fancy delicate tea cups. I gathered up more than enough. Washed them very well and the kids used them during the party ~ they were thrilled to have their own REAL tea cup. Once they finished eating and drinking, I washed out the cups and filled them with goodies, the cups were now a part of the loot bag!
We have tons of dress up clothes (even for the boys) and jews for the kids. I placed all the items on the table and they dressed themselves up for tea with Cinderella. Each kids picked a special Disney character they most liked to pretend to be.
I served tea and tea type food, little fancy finger sandwiches, etc.,. After they ate, they decorated their own Mickey and Minnie cookies.
The cake was CINDERELLA! I made a cake that I saw on Martha Stewart. MS called it a BARBIE cake. I did the same thing but made her look like CINDERELLA!
The two best parts were the invitations and how the kids got there loot bag!
We had returned from WDW a few month before the party so I got a picture of Cinderella and dd from Cinderellas Castle char breakfast and scanned it on my computer and wrote a poem as the invitation! It turned our great!
Okay, this was fun! At the end of the party, I put ONE SHOE from each kid in a pillow case and the kids had to pick their own shoe and try it on to get a loot bag! Cool eh?
HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY WALT ~ by the way, dd's birthday is Dec 5, just like WALT DISNEY!
