Hi there,

I'm new so apologies if there is another thread on this... although i did have a quick look!

We are visiting WDW from the UK this year to celebrate hubs turning 40 and our 10 year wedding anniversary.

I'd like to organize a few little treats (nothing fancy but something a little out of the box) as a surprise. We are also travelling with our 7 year old.

Are there any shows, must do special places etc? Anything i can book?

Many thanks in anticipation.

There’s so many extras that you can add. Just depends on your budget and what you guys like.

WDW offers in-room celebrations that are a little on the expensive side, but they are pretty nice. For our 5 year anniversary I had a champagne and snack platter in the room waiting for us when we checked in. I still have the champagne glasses and the Mickey serving plate that came with it. I think it cost around $125, but that was 7 years ago now.

We are going to celebrate my 40th, as well as our youngest's 3rd and our oldest's 16th birthdays. I am going to buy us special birthday shirts and birthday Mickey ears from etsy. There are so many affordable, fun options. Is your husband a Star Wars fan? There were even Star Wars shirts that say, "May the Forties be with You". So, you should check out etsy for some fun, personalized Disney gear. I plan to make dining reservations for our birthdays as well. For my will-be 3 year old, we plan on doing a character dining with princesses. For our 16 year old, we plan on going to Sanaa as we went once before, she loved it, and they celebrate with birthday drums. I'm still deciding for my birthday. I am thinking a breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, as I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan.

A nice extra could be one of the after hour events. A friend of mine just went to one of these events and raved about it. It is a bit pricey, at about $125-150 per ticket, but she said it was totally worth it with very low crowds and little to no lines on the rides.

Another extra could be dessert party reservations, where you have dessert, obviously, but with prime seating to view the park nighttime show.

So, your best bet is to look into the restaurants, show/dessert packages and other extras to see what appeals most to you.

Disney Springs will be having a new Cirque Du Soliel show opening next month. If you never seen a show like that you may want to put that on your list.
