Hi! I’m Deena!

I'm a well seasoned WDW vet, and in November 2011, DH and I took the plunge and each got a Premier Passport!! This would mean that the next 12 months would be some seriously intense Disney fun!

In November, we got married at the Polynesian and did a split stay between the Contemporary and Old Key West.

The last week of January/First week of February, we took on a new land that we've never seen before... We split this trip between Paradise Pier TPV/CL and a studio at the Grand Californian Villas.

------------------------------

In the interest of assuring we're getting the most from our passes :rolleyes1 We're taking our annual May WDW trip from the 3rd to the 9th. My birthday is May 1, and DH is May 13. We always try to take a trip to celebrate both!

I am a resort changer, and it's been quite the ride between changing dates and resorts, but I think we're going to stay put at Port Orleans Riverside in the Royal Rooms with a River View. We've never stayed at POR, and I'll admit any day that we're both Deluxe/CL snobs... but for what we have traveled in the past 5 months already, plus what I have planned in October :cool2:.... this trip needed to calm down just a bit.

I hope you'll join me thru the rest of my planning, and the upcoming report!

~Deena :flower3:

The Plan.... As of Today :surfweb:

Wednesday: Drive to PA to my aunt's house. Help her around the house, and she will watch our dog, Baxter, while we're gone. Why do we drive 4 1/2 hours for this?? We trust my aunt with our dog, it's free dogsitting, we need to make a trip to help her with a few things anyway, and Southwest out of PIT is much cheaper than Delta out of CVG.

Thursday: Our flight leaves at 6:30am :eek: We will need to be at PIT by 5:00, so we need to leave the house by 4:30. We plan on taking Magical Express to POR. I don't expect our room to be ready, so we will make our way over to Epcot where I have lunch ressies for 11:30am. I'd like to go to AK after lunch to see Lilly the gorilla. We also will go see the tigers, ride the Safari, and Expedition Everest. Hopefully our room will be ready at a decent hour and we can settle in. Our next definate plan is Fulton's for dinner.

Friday: Water Park Day! Either or Both! Boatwrights for dinner.

Saturday: Saratoga Springs Spa for me, and Wild Africa Trek for him - Earl of Sandwich for lunch and California Grill for dinner! This may be the day to go Mini Golfing at Winter Summerland.

Sunday: Sleep In, Shop at Downtown Disney, Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch--Shop at GF, Yachtsman for dinner, and MK EMH!

Monday: DHS rope drop. Running of the bulls to TSM, then TOT, Star Tours and RnRC... maybe swing by the Animation Academy and Little Mermaid. Possibly over to Epcot for a snack, a drink, and maybe Cantina de San Angel or Nine Dragons. Ohana that night, and maybe back to DHS for EMH.

Tuesday: Ohana Breakfast. Water Parks. California Grill Take 2.

Wednesday: Whatever we want! Lunch at Paradiso 37. Flight leaves at 7:30, so we will need to be on our way around 4:30 on ME. We'll stay the night with my aunt, help her if needed the next day, and be back later on Thursday night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will have TIW instead of the DxDDP this time for better flexibility. We have found during our May trips that it's generally too hot for all the heavy food. We find ourselves not as hungry when it's humid.
It's getting a little dusty in here... and it's almost time to go!!
It wouldn't be a trip for us without last minute cha cha cha changes!! We've decided to bypass my spa appointment and his Wild Africa Trek to do a split stay!!
We'll be at POR Riverside in a Royal Room w/ a River View from May 3-6... then we
...
drumroll please
...
Move to the Yacht Club with Club Level-Garden View! I am super excited about this as the YC is one of my favorite resorts!! DH thinks we have the perfect trip ahead of us and prefers I not change anything else!
I want to order a cake for us, but am lacking ideas since the bakery shot down my TRON idea. They don't have all the rights. I also want to order some chocolate covered strawberries because they are delish!! I need to get in contact with IPO to see if they can arrange to have one of DH's bday presents in the room when we get there. He's been wanting the Haunted Mansion Game of Life, and since we're flying Southwest, it'll be a perfect time to be able to take extra luggage to get it home!!
The next installment will include dining, packing, and last minute odd and ends!
I feel a little hungover from my "reaction" yesterday. The doctors office keeps calling it that, however I considered a "near death experience" :rotfl2: Funny now, but I had said my prayers and had been prepared for the worst yesterday. Today they called in something called Mobic to replace the devil Rx. I'll be honest--I'm scared to death of it. What happened yesterday can not happen again! :sick: Anywho!! That's fun that DD4 and my DH share a bday :) I work that whole weekend, so maybe he'll have some quality time with MIL. Better him than me :lmao:
September for sure :) I just made an ADR at California Grill for the 28th!
Although I have 100 other things I need to be doing, I come here to gather my thoughts.
I'm checking things off my list slowly but surely. I had to order extra ME tags today. I think I'm going to take an extra piece of luggage for my retail therapy addiction. I also secretly re-looked at spa stuff :rolleyes1
My main trouble today is food. I have a feeling my ADRs are just not right, and I'm unsettled that we don't have clear lunch plans. The plans I laid out on 3/27 may as well fly away.
We always plan. Our first 'go with the flow' trip was in Disneyland this past winter. We liked it because we were a little jet lagged, unfamiliar with our surroundings, and really wanted to fit everything in since we were across the country for the first time. We ate when we wanted, with the exception of our WOC dinner, and Blue Bayou reservation. We even tweaked the time of our Goofy's Breakfast the morning of. Now I'm back in WDW mode and feel like :scared1::eek::scared1::eek::scared1:
Dinners are pretty much in stone... but I'd like to discuss.
Fulton's: I wanted my tried and true Captain's Grille, but he wants to try a new place. Truth be told--I would order the same meal at both places. I need to accept change.
Boatwright's: It looks different than our normal dinner. POR is new to us, and I'm not sure when we'll be back there, so we thought we'd give it a try.
California Grill: Our favorite meal. We always wish we would have booked twice, and with rumor it may refurb--we went ahead and booked it twice.
Ohana: I was ready to take a one trip break from them, but DH was not. I love this place, but was willing to open the spot for something else. DH said he wants his meat! Okay then! I did move our ressie to Sunday before MK EMH.
Yachtsman: Our other favorite. We took a one trip hiatus and we are ready to go back and see our favorite waiter, Oscar!!
California Grill - Take 2 - There are sooooooooo many other places to eat. Should we really go there twice??
I need to assess this more tomorrow.
Places that could insert for dinner or lunches are the following:
Chefs de France
Grand Floridian Cafe
Paradiso 37
Nine Dragons
Big River Grille
Columbia Harbour House
Pinocchio's
POR Food Court
Casey's
Sleepy Hollow
QS at Water Parks
Earl of Sandwich
Cantina de San Angel
DH reminded me that I'm cranky and easily dehydrated when it's hot. Last may was HOT HOT HOT! I barely wanted to eat, and nothing sounded good. Maybe it's best we go without a plan.
I just realized I've been typing this for about 2 hours off and on and it's all over the place, lol. Now that I have all my restaurants typed and in front of me, maybe tonight I can sit DH down again and narrow it down a bit. Thoughts are appreciated!!
Ugh, Mobic??? That's kinda similar to the devil rx...just sayin...be careful :hug: sounds like you are very sensitive to NSAIDS...I made sure I am off May 13th...and I am looking at LM fo our first night (sept 27th) that would be neato...then in the morning...you and Dave can come to RPC when we check in....not for nothin...but if Dave has to say...stay home....we can bunk together, just saying....I dunno if Sheila would consider coming, but seriously an RPC room for me and HRH....that's a lot of unused beds, she will be my nighttime snugglebunnie.
For you ADR...Yachtsman...most def:thumbsup2
Yeah... Mobic was the Devils Twin Sister :rotfl: I think I'm adjusted to the Tramadol now and my quality of life is improving just in time for our trip! :goodvibes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So I'm doing the Single Digit Dance :banana:

Life has been insane lately! First off--carpal tunnel pain was getting the best of me, then the meds they prescribed attacked me, finally after several changes--we have a winner, and I'm starting to adjust after a few days of dizziness and insomnia. I slept the whole night last night, and today, I'm using the mouse and keyboard without tearing up and cursing every 30 seconds!! A step in the right direction :woohoo:

During the time when I was sick, I put a lot of hours in working on our wedding pictures and albums. I keep looking at the Polynesian. Although we eat at Ohana every trip, and sometimes Kona, as well as stopping by for some shopping, etc.... we have never explored the grounds further than the walk from the GF to the Grand Ceremonial House. I've seen pictures, and have always wanted to spend time exploring. I also have been on the Dis for a few years and it's very clear that the Poly gets rave reviews--as does their Club Level. DH has mentioned staying there quite a few times. As I was continuing to look at our wedding pictures at the Polynesian--curiousity got the best of me.

Before I knew it, I was was on the WDW Passholder Site checking out the Poly. How was I going to do this?? DH realllly is excited about the Royal Rooms, and I am super pumped about YC. Now, I'm not as crazy excited about POR as he is. I'm not as in love with moderates as I am deluxe. I had wanted to add a night to YC and take a night from POR, but it wasn't available. So my next devious plan was...... 2 nights POR, 2 nights Poly CL, 2 nights YC. I priced everything out... and before I knew it... I was on the phone. I dropped a night from POR and took it from a Royal Room River View to Garden View, added 2 nights Poly CL Garden View, and took a night from YC CL Garden View. I have officially named this trip the Tour of Garden Views Around the World!

We have our boat access to DD for 2 nights, Monorail for 2 nights, and boat/walking access to Epcot/DHS for 2 nights!! I am so crazy excited about this!!!

Here is another reason behind my crazy split: My full time job is closing on June 1st. At that point, I will be bumping my part time job as a full time job, and will have 3 months of severance. I will be losing a ton of money per year, and until I find another full time--I'm not sure when next time we will be able to stay deluxe. It could be a while. That's why I'm so anxious to get the Poly in on this stay--even if only for 2 days.

We haven't changed our ADRs--we like them, and IPO can help us move stuff if we want to once we're there. It really does work out nice:

Fulton's and Boatwrights while we're at POR
Cali Grill and Ohana while at Poly
Yachtsman and Cali Grill at YC (but I think we're canceling the CG and playing that night by ear. I'm keeping the ressie until I know for sure.).

I canceled my massage at Saratoga Springs, and made an appointment at home for a 90 minute massage the day before we leave. I have a membership and some backed up points, so I only have to pay the tip. I'll miss the facial--but I'm in pretty good condition right now, so it's okay.

We took our last minute WalMart trip on Sunday night. I ordered a few things from JCPenney that I'm waiting on, and I ordered Croc Canvas Capri flip flops that I'm waiting for. Packing is the next thing I need to get started on. We have been spoiled the last few trips by having a 1BR villa with the washer and dryer. This time we need to make sure we pack enough of everything. We tend to change clothes a few times a day in May. Last year it was crazy crazy hot!

Well I that's all I can think of for now!! Time is going to fly from here!! I work one or both of my jobs everyday until we leave, I only have this Thursday, and next Tuesday nights (my birthday) off.

9 days to go!!!! :banana: :banana: :banana:

The W/D at the resorts aren't all that bad...

WHY DID THE DR THINK MOBIC WOULD BE OK????:headache: sorry I had to vent for you :hug: Glad you are back to the Dis :woohoo:

And SINGLE DIGIT DANCE :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: with a castle dance :dance3: Riverside rumba :banana: and last but not least....Stormalong Stomp :dancer:

I'm so excited (and jealous) of your Poly CL! :rotfl: The resort plans sound great, even if it is a lot of moving around. I can't wait to see how the garden views really do change around the world.

The dining reservations look great too. I think I would only change the second CG reservation? Could you tack on something else from the BoardWalk area or Epcot, since you will be at YC then?

I might have mentioned it before, but Dave and Chris share the same birthday! So odd. And I remembered yours was at the beginning of May and mine is at the end! It's interesting reading into the dates like that.

Happy single-digits! You will be in sunny Florida soon! :cool1:

I said a million times I would never stay there because they don't have King Beds or a Hot Tub. Somehow I've gotten over all that and really just want to see what it's all about!! I'm in an arm brace at night and it's so obtrusive when I stretch out that we've been sleeping separate anyway. I go next week to see if I will need surgery or not. I'm ready for them to just do it.

We never mind moving resorts :) Since we'll be relaxing a lot, we'll spend time at each resort, then move along! I love the CL lounges and I hope to see them all someday!! I hear good things about the "special punch" that the Poly has!! Ooooh and watching Wishes from there!! :lovestruc

I do remember our DH's have the same Bday!! We're all May babies!! It's such a nice time of year--I've always liked it because I would get new summer clothes and shoes :lmao:

I think we'll end up at Shulas, Il Mulino, Rose and Crown, Tutto (if it's open), or Nine Dragons. I just hate to cancel it, since we love it so much--you never know if we decide to do it one more time!! We haven't had Citricos lately either--so that's a possiblity too.

I asked DH which resort he was the most excited about.... and he said he wanted to see the Princess Rooms. I swear.... he is in LOVE with Aurora. That's his lady. I requested High Floor, Parterre Place, Near Bridge. I love these boards--how else would I know that??

OOOOOOOh and DH got me a D23 membership for my Bday!! I never would pay for it myself, and he got it for me! Love him!! Oh... and you and Chris should come down for Food/Wine and stay at Art of Animation with us... Sept 27-Oct 1. Just sayin!!

•I just don't understand the resorts that don't have King beds. :confused3 I didn't know that the Poly was on that list. Too bad, but sometimes sleeping in your own bed has perks. :lmao:
•Yum! I would love to nix off all the CLs from my list. So far I have 2 under my belt--I feel like an amateur.
•May babies are the best. I find myself bragging about that all the time. It's spaced out pretty well from other gift-giving holidays too...we're so spoiled. :rotfl:
•The princess rooms sound amazing! I'm sure you'll both love it.
•Yay for the D23 membership! You should buy tickets for the Expo next year and make another trip out to California. (Yes, I'm being an instigator.)
•AND don't even tempt me with your Food and Wine trip. Chris just told me the other night that we should branch out and take other trips away from Disney. I joked and said, ok let's go to the HH, VB and Aulani resorts. He wasn't thrilled with those either. :guilty: Looks like I might be traveling solo or not for a while. Boooooo. :headache:

Yay, I'm excited to follow along on another TR! Your plans sound great, I love your resort hopping! ;) You are leaving quite soon, you must be so excited!

2 CLs... you're good! I only have YC and CR, but from what YC IPO told me--YC/BC/BWI are almost the exact same offerings--so I consider that one, lol. We also toured RPC-GF before, and know what to expect if I ever hit the lottery :laughing: I really am interested in Poly's.... and am desperate to try WL's CL. AKL looks a little to exotic for my child-like taste, lol.

We should hit the California D23 next year--I'm totally up for it! You never have to travel solo--you just have to ask me :)

Yay, I'm excited to follow along on another TR! Your plans sound great, I love your resort hopping! ;) You are leaving quite soon, you must be so excited!

Yay! Becky's here! I'm so excited!! If I could only hire someone to do my laundry and pack for me :rolleyes1

4 days until my birthday
5 days until we travel to PA
6 days until we arrive at POR

I have a busy schedule ahead of me. I have to get myself ready to go, as well as the dog. Baxter will need me to give him a little haircut, nails cut, and a wash before he stays with my aunt. I don't want to pawn my ragged animal off on someone--he should look decent :laughing: I normally take better care of him than me, but life has been busy! He also needs to be packed up with his favorite toys, food, bowls, and blankies.

I am officially checked in to all 3 of my reservations :yay:

My rooms are all paid off which is a huge relief. I contemplated re-doing the River View at POR, and the Lagoon View at Poly..... but that's money I can spend elsewhere. Although it would be lovely--maybe a splurge for an anniversary--but not for a birthday, lol.

I also wanted to note that for much of our reservations, I had went to Kroger, our grocery store, and purchased gift cards. Gift cards get double reward points everyday, and during March-April15 they had a 4x the points on gift cards. I purchased over $1500 in gift cards and have got $1 off my last several tanks of gas. I still have 2000 points in my bank after todays fill up!! That's a huge savings when you have an SUV.

Today I need to finalize our laid-back itinerary. Our only "set in stone plans" are our ADRs, watching Wishes from the Poly lounge, and the DisBride DoleWhip meet on Sunday at 1pm.

I'm praying for nice weather. From the looks of the forecast--it's not great. I've been tanning, so at least it looks like I've already been in the sun. I just like to have a nice base so I don't get fried in the Florida sun. I used to think I was invincible in my teens and got knocked out by sun poisoning quite a few times. Oh the lessons we learn! The one was a band trip when another girl and I were desperate to be sunny bunnies. We decided that baby oil was the way to go at Blizzard Beach. Needless to say, we didn't get to go to Wet n Wild the next day because we were fried to a crisp and stuck in bed.

I think that's it for now!

Happy Friday :wave:

Good luck at the doctors :hug: I'll make a cake for your birthday....May 1st is MILs birthday, but in my heart...it will be for you!!!:cloud9:

BTW yesterday I changed my August trip..again...back to HRHs birthday...so we have Sept 27- Oct 1st at LM.....sound familiar :rotfl:

All right, I am hereee! You are so close now.

-I am super-excited, yet super jealous, for all of your stays. We're planning on staying in a Royal Room in December, so I am really excited for your review! We also might do YC next year so, again, I am nosy. And I really just want to droooool over the Poly.
-I'll do your laundry for you if I can come! :rotfl2: I worked retail for 5 years; I can fold a MEAN pair of pants.
-Did you finalize the food stuffs by the way, or are you going to wing it?

Well I'm glad my stays will help you decide :) I'm glad you're here!! I hate folding laundry. We live out of laundry baskets and fluff our clothes in the mornings, lol. Maybe when I'm down to one job it'll change and I'll be more domesticated :confused3 Final plans below!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, so I thought today was the final okay on whether I needed surgery or not. Instead, he decided to take me off the crazypants Tramadol, and put me on steriods for 3 weeks. He said I should have the energy of a 5 year old on vacation :yay: However, I will eat everything in sight :woohoo: Hopefully we do enough walking and swimming to counter act the increased food intake. So that's that. DH will be happy when I'm back to normal.
This weekend was a bust. Besides work, I laid on the couch and did nothing. Well--I did put a bag of toiletries together, but that was it. DH said we are having a packing party on Tuesday night. Apparently that's how we will be celebrating my birthday. Packing and laundry. Fun! :laundy:
As of last night, the weather looked terrible. With no exaggeration--it's supposed to rain everyday. :headache: DH sent me a text while he was at work the other night to tell me that he was really excited about this trip. That made me :goodvibes
So of course plans are subject to change--especially with weather--but if I had it my way... this is how our week would look:
(I'm sure you can understand my shorthand)
Thursday: Check in, Epcot, Soarin, Nemo, Via Napoli, boat to DHS, RnRC, Tot, TSM, maybe BaTB, VotLM, Animation Academy, Star Tours, bus to Animal Kingdom, Safari, Exp. Everest, trail to see Lilly the gorilla, trek to see the tigers, back to resort, get ready for dinner, Fultons, shop Downtown Disney.
Friday: Breakfast at Food Court, Blizzard Beach, maybe hop to Typhoon Lagoon, Back to resort, dinner at Boatwright's, Magic Kingdom if we're not tired-sleep if we are.
Saturday: Move to Poly. No plans until Cali Grill for dinner. Back to the resort to watch Wishes from the lounge. Probably explore the resort, swim, go to a water park, DisneyQuest, or DD if we get bored. At some point go to GF to shop.
Sunday: Sleep in, Lunch in the MK, DisBride Dole Whip meet at 1:00pm, late afternoon is open, late dinner at Ohana, then MK EMH until 1am.
Monday: Move to YC, Spend the day at Stormalong Bay, maybe some Mini Golf, Yachtsman for dinner, then DHS EMH.
Tuesday: Lunch at Chefs de France, the rest of the day is free, probably go to a water park, no dinner plans, get last minute stuff at DD.
Wednesday: Whatever we want :) Lunch at Paradiso 37, back to the resort for ME, and then it'll be time to plan another vacation!!
It's almost time to go!! Today I work both jobs, Tomorrow I work my day job..... then I'm done!!! I can't wait to report alllllll about it!!
