I am wondering if anyone can give me some info on the Birthday Fun Card, like what stores it can be used in & if it expires at midnight on the night you get it or when it is used up. I have read conflicting things on that part. TIA :goodvibes

Im curious on this too? Is it simply a gift card in the amount of a one day base ticket? And do you have to use it on your bday? Since we already have our tickets, Id much rather have a gift card. And do you pick this up at the gate on your bday? Thanks!

Yes, it's a gift card equal to a one day ticket (child or adult, depending on who's birthday it is). You don't have to use it all that day - if it has any expiration, I don't know what it is - I don't think it does. My daughter used hers all week on our trip.

As to where - it's mostly good for merchandise, but it worked in every store at every park & resort that we tried. See Cheshire Figment's ticket sticky at the top of the page here - he has a whole post about the details on the card, I think.

And yes, you can only get it on your birthday - you have to show picture ID/proof of birthdate and your park ticket to get it (we got ours at the Will Call window at DHS, outside the turnstiles).

The gift cards don't expire..at least that is what I was told when I picked mine up on the 13th. She said its good as long as there is still a balance remaining on it

Can you use it online if there's a balance left, or only in the parks?

I read her info and that was where I got confused. It doesn't state what stores it is good in & it states that it expires at midnight on date of issue. Then someone posted under her that it doesn't expire until used up  and that is why I am asking the 2 questions here (for someone who has gotten it & used it to maybe shed some light on it) .. :goodvibes

I am trying to find out if it is only good in the parks. We plan on arriving on my DD's 21st birthday. She really didn't want to "rush" into the park. She would pick up the fun card & maybe use it at some shops that evening (but not in parks). She may not even enter any Disney Parks this trip. Her BF is coming with us (and may stay entire trip). He doesn't have a pass so she may not be getting her annual when I get mine (they have Universal AP's). Meaning: she will not have a pass & may not want to use the birthday pass as a tkt but fun card.. so really I have another question .. I wonder if you can get it in place of a tkt when you don't have a tkt??? then if so, what stores can you use it in..

It is good at almost all the Disney owned stores in the parks/resorts. There were a few Epcot locations that did not take it because the stores are not owned by Disney. It is not good for food, I know that part - merchandise only as far as I know (meaning not services). I don't have the info that came with ours any longer, so I don't remember for sure.

Canadian Guy posted the info below the original post saying it was good indefinitely - that is the correct information. When it was first announced, the info said one thing, but later they changed it.

I don't believe you can use it online, just at Disney but I'm not 100% sure of that part.

You cannot get one if you don't already have a ticket. However, you don't have to enter the park to get it, and you don't even have to enter the park at all that day. Here's the link to the info from Disney's own website - read at your leisure.

You will need to redeem your birthday certificate with a photo ID and a park ticket at one of the Will Call windows. Because I wanted the Gift Card, I asked a CM if I could redeem the ticket inside the park and she stated that it can only be redeemed at the Will Call/Guest Services outside of the turnstiles.

I ran into trouble using it for a big figure at Star Wars Weekends. After several phone calls, the CM came back and said the SWWeekend store registers were set up as "Special Events" not as a regular merchandise store and the card wouldn't work.

Thanks for this, worth remembering for MNSSHP where others might find the same problem!

FYI My dd used her's at BBB! I was surprised they took it for the makeover but they did.
