Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are going on our second Disneyworld vacation together In May and will be there for his birthday. Does anyone know of any current birthday freebies that Disney offers? I know they used to offer a free base ticket but I don't think they do that anymore.

As far as I know, the only birthday freebie is the button. The promotion you're talking about ended several years ago.

What button are you referring to? We will be in DIsney next week on my husband's 40th....

Disney has birthday buttons that are available at each park and I think the resorts but not sure. Just go to Guest Services at the parks and tell them you'd like a birthday button.

Is there anything else they do while you are wearing the buttons? We are going to Cindy's on the birthday.

Did you enter his/her birthday on your reservation? My DS13's b-day was a few days before our trip last May so on our package I noted it was his birthday and there was a birthday card for him in our room. He didn't wear his b-day button but I heard CMs wishing Happy Birthday to some guests who had on buttons and I think some restaurants might bring the b-day person a cupcake or other small dessert with a candle on it. I'm not sure they have a standard, required protocol but I'd have the b-day girl/boy wear the button around the parks! :thumbsup2

Two years ago we went for my sons birthday (and again this year!) and he wore his button and on certain rides they made it special. He got to help drive the Jungle Cruise, there was something else that another CM did on a ride but I don't recall.

I guess they can't do much, TONS of people go for birthdays etc...

You can get the buttons at any resort front desk or at the park guest services. I think it is really up to the CM's if they want to do anything or not for a particular guest. Some say Happy Birthday when you walk around the parks! At 1900 Park Fare you get a placemat, signed card and birthday cupcakes. Other restaurants do cupcakes too but they are a bit hit or miss as to if you will get one or not. Once a CM handed my mom the phone at the desk of a store and it was Goofy wishing her a happy birthday. You can also order and pay for your own cake at various restaurants which can be nice.

Wearing the button makes your birthday very special. The whole bus sang to me and many people wish you happy birthday. Its fun.

We went to DL in May 2010, and when we made our dinner reservations at Goofy's Kitchen, they asked if we were celebrating anything. I told them my daughter's kindergarten graduation and my son's 2nd birthday. I didn't realize they were doing anything with this info, but after we ate dinner they brought cupcakes for the kids, and my son's had a candle in it.
