birthday for son at disney?

We will be at Disney next week my son's birthday will be Tues. Anyone have any tips for celebrating his birthday there? Do any of the ice cream shops have birthday cakes, etc? The only place I can imagine to get a cake is at a grocery, etc. Any thoughts on what I can do? Thanks

How old is your son? The restaurants will bring him a cupcake if you tell them it's his b-day. Also, I think if you call Disney Dining they'll tell you how to order a cake to be served at whatever restaurant you're at. Do you have a PS for a character meal (depending on his age) because they'd sing to him if you told them it's his birthday. Also, you can get him a birthday badge at MK. Have fun!

He'll be 5 Thanks so much for the idea of calling Disney Dining. I sure will give that a try & I had no idea of the birthday badge! I'll have to find out where to get the badge. Thanks SO MUCH for the ideas!

We are leaving tomorrow and I just decided yesterday that we should have a birthday cake for my daughters 17th birthday (also yesterday). So from other posts I read about PixieGifts.com I emailed Pixie Gifts, even with such short notice Cindy at Pixie Gifts called me and setup for our arrival day(tomorrow YEAH!) a cake, utencils, a couple of gifts and ballons. She was extremely helpfull and I thought very reasonable. She said she will deliver to the Yacht club and they will either put in our room after check in or call someone down to the front desk to pick up package. If that happens I will send DD down, of course I will probably go with her just to see her face. She thinks she did not get anything additional for this birthday since I bought her a HS lettermen jacket this summer. We didn't celebrate this week since things have been so hectic, band practice, soccer practice, work etc.

It's so much fun, birthday or not! I have heard that they will bring out a cupcake for the birthday person if you ask in advance.

Also, don't forget the birthday button at town hall in MK.

We went over MY birthday in June, and it was alot of fun....Even at MY age!! LOL

They don't bring a cupcake. They bring a CUPCAKE. It's HUGE. With candles, of course. When we had my niece's bday party at Chef Mickey's, Minnie brought it to the table. I'm hoping Minnie does it again when we're there for DD's 3rd bday party in a couple of months.

Also, even though it's a buffet they will let the bday child take the cupcake out of the restaurant. My niece was way too full to eat more than a few bites.

We just got back last night from 8 days at WDW and celebrated our son's 9th birthday there. You can get their birthday pin by going to any park's guest relations area and telling them that you're celebrating a birthday. It's a fairly large button that says "Today is my birthday" and my son proudly wore it for several days actually.

A lot of cast members said Happy Birthday, one gave both of my sons a pin (we are now pin trading addicts!), one CM in a store yelled, "May I have everyone's attention? It's Cameron's birthday and we're all going to sing Happy Birthday to him!" and had the whole store sing! Several asked if he'd listened to the special birthday message from Goofy. They would take him to the phone at the cash register, dial an extension and hand him the phone for the greeting. They all seemed genuinely happy to wish him a happy birthday and my son loved every bit of the attention he got!

How fun!My son will be 9 when we are in Disney!!! We are planning on getting his badge the first day we go to Disney to let him enjoy it for a couple of days! We also made breakfast ps at Chef Mickey's on the last morning we are there and at Tony's for a late lunch. I mentioned the fact that it is his birthday, so hopefully they will be memorable meals!!! Grandma and Grandpa are going to join us, soi am sure that it will be extra special either way!!!

We were at WDW when my younger daughter turned 2. Because of great info I got on these boards, I faxed the Polynesian resort about a week in advance of our trip to make a room request (knowing its only a request, not a guarentee) and I also mentioned it would be my little one's 2nd birthday, and if they could do something, that would be really nice. Minutes after we checked into our room, there was a knock on the door, and a CM wheeled in a cake, plates and forks, hats, party noise makers, and balloons, all Disney themed. It was nice because even though we asked, it wasn't expected because it wasn't something they had to do....it was great to have a little something extra special. Our memories and pictures are treasures.
