Hi,

I am thinking of booking a Birthday Fireworks Cruise out of the YC for Nov 19th. Has anyone done one? From what I read I need to book 90days out and they decorate the boat and provide a cake and soft drinks. Can anyone confirm? I am assuming I can arrange to have alcohol on board for an additional fee. Any and all information on this will be greatly appriciated.

Hi, I planned the Birthday cruise for my husbands birthday last year. We got it at the Grand Floridian there were 7 adults 2 kids. We were staying at the Poly, when I called 90 days out to book it to leave from the Poly they were booked.(so make sure you ask if any are available from any other resort) They decorated the boat with streamers, a happy birthday sign and balloons. They asked me ahead of time what kind of cake. We got chocolate of course It was the best!! We had different sodas, juice and waters. I think maybe we had snacks?? They provided silverware, glasses, napkins. We had plenty of cake leftover for another family and plenty of sodas. We ended up taking the rest of the cake and the sodas back to the resort when the cruise was over.
It was a little dark when we were having the cake. No lights on the boat. Thank god for the Camcorder light or we wouldn't have been able to really see the cake. Hope this helps :wave2:

Look at the top of this page, called Illuminations Cruise and how to book one. That will give lots of info.

Illuminations seems to book much faster than Wishes, although those can go quick too.

Yesterday and today Illuminations cruises using the pontoon boats were gone before 704am!

There is also a link in the first post to show the different pacakges avail.

Thanks for the quick replies. I will keep the Wishes option in mind if the Illuminations option sells out.

Remember, there is only 6 boats each night for IllumiNations, 5 pontoons and Breathless. That is why they are so difficult to reserve. Whereas, Wishes has boats issued from Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, Contemporary and the Poly. Lots more available.

Just tried for illuminations this am. My husband and I were both through before 7 and neither of us could get one. We did get wishes though. I was told they changed things July 1st and the celebration cruise no longer includes a cake. Decorations, soft drinks, popcorn, and pretzels. The cake was additional add on. I was origionally told a couple weeks ago that I could get the decorations added for approx $20 without the beverages and food but thismorning they said no. They are no longer doing that. Who knows :confused3 We are doing this as a surprise for my mom's birthday.

Pooh - when are you doing yours? I would love to hear how it went after you return!!

Thanks for all of the quick replies. I will definetly ask about the Wishes cruise if I get shut out on the Illuminations option.
