Does anyone out there know if the fastpass offered for one of the birthday options is able to be used for Toy Story in CA Adventure?

Also, how many guests are allowed on that pass and is it transferable if you have a larger group or are they assigned to the guests?

What are birthday fast passes and where do you get/buy them? I know about the regular fast passes but I am not farmiliar with these.. Thanks!

This thread talks about all the birthday options, including how the FP works.

However, TSMM doesn't have FP at DCA; it has a Single Rider line when they decide to open it, but no FP.

With good trip planning you do not need the fastpass if you go early in the mornings for example. I rather take the credit worth a ticket to use shopping at Disney that fastpasses. Check out the thread. DCA is dead quiet except special events and weekends.

Thanks for the answers. Interesting about no fast pass. At WDW they have fast pass but not single rider, and no single rider at Soarin' either.

It's for my son's b'day and he doesn't want anything in the stores, but even we are going to both parks and could use the fastpast on some if it is anything like past visits at the same time of year. He has a friend with an annual pass that can meet him in the evening after work.

Another question, though. On the birthday fastpast, do they still let you in the fastpass line if they have stopped distributing them for the day. I'm not talking about when they have a tiny line, but later, when there is still a line, but they have run out. Hope that makes sense. Again, thanks for all of your answers.

I think the fast pass works alot like the dream fastpass, so I would assume you could still use them. But I also don't think you get a fastpass for every fastpass ride- only a select few of them :)

I'm hearing that the bday fastpass isn't worth it and that you should go with the gift card.

Maybe I'm being a girl here, but I can't imagine not wanting anything in the stores. :rotfl: Not even a nice sweatshirt or something? :confused3

Get the gift card, he doesn't have to spend it all at once and it doesn't expire so he can hold onto it for later if he wants to. The fastpass deal isn't as good a deal as the fun card. It's limited to certain rides and you don't get that many.

I agree with everyone else, the FPs don't seem like they are a good deal at all. You don't get very many (I think you only get 2 or 3?) so free gift card seems like the only way to go. Even if he doesn't want a sweatshirt or souvenier, he could always spend it on the packaged food items they have in the regular stores. I'm sure you know you can't spend it at restaurants but you can buy packaged food sold in places like World of Disney. And like PP said, he doesn't have to spend it all at once.

One other point about the Birthday FP, is that supposedly the number you get is based on how busy the parks are. Sadly this is the reverse of the way you actually need them, from what I have heard you get more on the slow days and less on the busy days.

Personally I would get the GC and hold onto it, he might change is mind and it's a better deal all around. Heck he can use it for sugary snacks at several of the shops (not the REAL food places, but there are a few that it works with) then you can have him use that over several trips.

I just haven't heard enough good things about the FP's to give up the $69 in free stuff personally.

Yeah, I'm still busy reading through the thread that bumpershoot posted (thanks, btw). Not all through it yet, but so far it translates not like the dream fastpass (which is what I thought it was) but they just hand you a stack of them, and not that many.

I thought I read somewhere that the gift card had to be used all in one day. We just returned from WDW and got a $200 one that was just great. It was good almost everywhere, and we were on the dining plan, so we used it mainly for tips. I think the sweatshirt is a good idea. He's in school by the ocean, and complains of being cold. He also really likes their fudge. Our favorite new thing was Toy Story, so that was why I was asking about that, but it doesn't seem to be as crowded as it was at DHS/WDW.

Thanks again for your responses. I will try to remember to post to this when we get back and let you know how it went and if I find out any new info.

Just so you know thanks to California law, Disney was forced to change the Birthday GC's to have no expiration date. California has strict rules about GC's expiring.

The Birthday GC is also a little different from a standard GC which is why you can't buy food with the card. But since you can buy other merchandise at some of the shops and the way it is set up you can buy some treats like fudge from some of the shops.

I know you can find more on the thread Bumbershoot posted, but thought I would give you a small heads up :)
