May DD6s birthday was April 30th. I have not had a party for her bc we are taking both her an our DS9 to WDW/Star Wars Weekend next week. It is a total surprise to both of them. But I was hoping to use this trip as a bday celebration for her in lieu of an expensive bday party at home. Is it wrong to have her wear the bday pin at the parks even though it's not exactly her bday? I thought we'd let her pick which day of the trip will be her "birthday" and have a cake and everything.

Yes, you can wear the birthday button even if it's not really the birthday. You are celebrating a birthday, so why not wear a button to show it?

The button should be fine!! And getting her a cake will be lovely!

(Obvisouly the nly things you can't do are get any of the birthday celebration perks like fastpass or gift card etc.)

Also, prepare her for people saying Happy Birthday to her as she walks around the parks. She may just want to say thank you, even if it's not her birthday to spare you having to explain all the time what you are doing.

We noticed a lot of people saying happy birthday to anyone with a pin, it was fun!

We can never go on my DD10's actual b'day, we usually go a couple weeks before or after, but she picks one day to get the button and say she is celebrating her birthday, which is not lying. Make sure the Dapper Dan (barbershop quartet) sees her button because my daughter had them sing to her right in the middle of Main St. Have a great time!

We celebrated our DD's 6th birthday this past February 10 days before her actual birthday (didn't want to go president's week!), I booked all the meals letting them know it was a birthday celebration, booked her into BBB, she had the Princess birthday sash, birthday pin and was quite happy to pretend that day was her birthday. She now tells everyone she had 2 birthdays this year, one at WDW as a Princess and one at home.

at that age, kids are just happy to have the fuss and attention, to the point my DD now wants to know why she can't have 3 birthdays this year (spoiled much?!) :rotfl:

We have the same question! Both our daughters birthdays are in March but we can't go in March. We're planning to go in April and would like to do the birthday thing too. Actually my birthday will also be the week before we go.

Do they get anything special at the restaurants if they're celebrating their birthday?
