Birthday dinner ideas?

Just found out that work will take me to the Orlando area on my birthday. It's not a milestone birthday and it's unlikely that anyone will plan/do anything for me....so I'm considering taking myself to dinner at WDW. I wouldn't be able to arrive until 6pm but going into a park would be fine. I've had one character meal and it fell kind of flat (CRT 8 years ago, food was great but the princesses didn't seem to have anything to say to me). I'm into good food, but don't like anything to frou frou.

I tried for 'Ohana, but it's booked. Haven't done BOG, but I doubt I could get reservations at this point (mid-August).

Any suggestions?

If you wanted to splurge, but not do anything "frou frou" as you say (which I interpret to mean to not too adventurous/modern menus), Narcoosees, Yachtsman, and Le Cellier would all be very nice.

For us, we love Artist Point, Le Cellier, Raglan Road, Rose & Crown, Be Our Guest and Boma

I would consider Narcoosees or Cali Grill. They are signatures but not really frou frou and you’ll get amazing views of the fireworks. For something really fun, consider HDDR! You could also go to Disney Springs. We like the Boathouse - not frou frou! You’ll get better food outside the parks so I would not buy a park ticket just to eat inside.
