We will be in Disney June 5th - 8th (mini trip), but we are going that weekend to celebrate my youngest sons 4th birthday. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on where to go to dinner the night of his birthday? We have the DDP, so really, our options are open.

We are planning to do the Ohana Character Breakfast our first morning there, and in the past we have done dinner at T Rex Cafe, dinner in Italy, breakfast at Rainforest Cafe, Lunch at Hollywood and Vine, and then various quick service meals as well.

My oldest son is 7 going on 8,so I am trying to think of something fun that they will both enjoy, but will be special for my 4 year old. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!! :scratchin

We did the character lunch there the last time we were there. My youngest loved it, but my oldest (who was 6 at the time) was kind of bored. Plus neither of them are really into the disney JR characters as much as nick jr characters :confused3

What are some good character dinners in the parks?

I would say Chef Mickeys or Garden Grill to get characters for evening. Or I guess there is Crystal Palace too. I love Chef Mickey's its so much fun for kids!

Other than Chip and Dale, do you know what other characters are at the Garden Grill character dinner? I've heard good things about Crystal Palace...and then I've heard not so great things...so Im slightly on the fence.

I really wish I had girls, I would love to eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant, but yeah..my boys probably wouldn't get much out of it. Anyone have a girl I can borrow?? :rotfl:

Is the 4 year old a Star Wars fan? They are doing special character dining at Hollywood and Vine during that time frame with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy dressed as Star Wars Characters. The Disney Jr will not be going on at that time due to Star Wars weekends.

we did Chef Mickey for my niece's 3rd birthday. She requested it in advance; wanted to eat on her birthday with Mickey and Minnie.

We did Chef Mickey's a few months ago for my nephew's third birthday, and he loved it. He's talked about the "mickey macaroni and cheese" every time we go past the Contemporary, and my sister actually took him there again for dinner over her spring break earlier this month. I know dinner there frequently gets a bad rap on here, but I've enjoyed it, and it's fun for kids.

The Garden Grill dinner has Chip and Dale and Farmer Mickey (who looks super cute in his overalls!) and Pluto. I haven't been there yet, but I've read great reviews on here. As for the Crystal Palace, I've been there breakfast and lunch and much prefer breakfast.

I agree with trying to book Star Wars dinner at Hollywood and Vine. Still Mickey and friends, but in Star Wars costumes which should appeal to the whole group.

Mickey and Goofy are there too I believe

Garden Grill is Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. I really wish they would pull Pluto and put Donald in since he did the most cartoons with the boys.

Garden Grill is the best one hands down. The food comes to you. It's quieter. The food is better and the characters make it around two times every time we go. Also, they have the best character interaction hands down! It's always a good time!
