We are going to Downtown Disney for my son's 7th birthday. I know he can get in free to the parks, but the rest of aren't, so we are just doing DD. We are staying off property. With all that in mind, we are looking at Fulton's in DD for the other night we will be there. I would like to bring him somewhere special for his birthday dinner and assume we can go to the hotels for dinner or DD. Does anyone have suggestions for a fun place to go for a boy that age? Any other suggestions? We have never been to DD before, either. Thanks!

And one more thing, my parents will be with us. My dad has a hard time walking long distances and several stairs, so I would like to avoid that.

TIA!

I would say either T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe for sure.
Planet Hollywood is fun too, but perhaps for a more teen aged group.
He will LOVE both T-Rex and Rainforest would be my guess!

I would definitely go with T-Rex!! It's supposed to be so much fun!

I think you will be dubbed as the coolest mom ever with that choice;)

Thank you so much! I showed my son the T-Rex (which I had not even heard of before tonight) and he is flipping out about it. Hands down-this is the place for him. My only concern is reservations, but if no one else can make them, than we are all in the same boat, right?

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. We celebrated my nephew's 6th bday there and he talked about it for months. They give the bday boy a cup cake and laminated placemat signed by all the characters. So if you want a Disney meal, hands down Chef Mickey's (bfast or dinner).

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto are usually there.

Another vote for t-rex cafe...I think I read somewhere that they are taking reservations now--it's worth a call to find out.

Enjoy!

I so loved the T-rex cafe. I'm adding a couple of pictures from the restaurant. And, it has times that the dinos "come to life". I got some video and my DD8 is SO excited to go this summer.

They do take reservations but at the restaurant itself. You can get the number from Disney.
