We're planning on being in DLR/DCA on our DD's 4th birthday and I checked Disneyland's website about doing birthdays there. It seems to only be specific about ordering cakes but even that information is limited. It says you can order a basic cake or a more elaborate cake in the Mickey shape or princess but doesn't even have a picture of what the princess cake might look like.

Does anybody have any more detailed information about which restaurant does birthday "parties?" I thought the restaurant to the right of the castle after you finish Main St (can't remember the name) does some kind of birthday party where they set aside a certain time for parties and has character meet and greets. I couldn't find any information on this anymore.

Any help or tips is greatly appreciated it.

I thought they discontinued the princess cakes because of an issue with the supplier.

Here's a DLR cake thread, you can start backwards for the most recent examples. http://www.disboards.com/threads/we-should-start-a-disneyland-cake-thread.1536554/

Pat E Cake's birthday party was discontinued 3 1/2 years ago. They didn't replace it with anything birthday related.

At 4 will she notice if she doesn't have a cake on her actual birthday as opposed to at home before or after the trip? She may be just as happy choosing a cupcake out of the case at one of the candy stores. Sprinkles is also cooming to DTD and may be open by then.

Have you thought about bringing decorations from home for your room? It's a lot cheaper than what Disney floral charges.

You may need to get creative and make your own celebration in and out of the parks!

I love the suggestion to decorate your hotel room! Maybe spend time shopping for a special souvenir and have a nice table service lunch at Carnation Cafe, Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou. You can get a cake delivered to any table service restaurant in the parks starting at 35.00 or so. You don't have to pay ahead of time, they include it on your bill for your meal. Definitely check out the options on the existing cake thread! I ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate filling and whipped chocolate frosting, they also ask your preference of character to be printed on white chocolate and propped up on the cake. We picked Yoda and they had a lot of other options.

Make sure you grab the Happy Birthday button and introduce it as a subject of conversation with face characters so your little one will have memories related to their birthday. Maybe you could collect signatures on a Disney birthday card to save as a souvenir.

Have fun! Take a million pictures!

Pat E Cake's party at the Plaza Inn was so much fun. Wonder why they discontinued it?

What about an in-room celebration? That might be fun. Or you could go to a character meal, get her a bday button, and celebrate there. At 4, she'll think no matter what you do is fun! party:

Maybe the Bippity Bopppity boutique? Not a party per se but a special experience for a little princess for sure. You could do that and then do something more low key with sprinkles cupcakes or something in your room or a little birthday treat at one of the restaurants.

Alice will turn 3 while we are there. We went to Party City and got some Frozen party decorations for the room. The banner has interchangeable numbers and letters to spell her name and 3rd. We have reservations for Breakfast with Minnie that morning.
