birthday call?

A newbie here, hope this question isn't too dumb.

I read that your child can get a birthday call from a character, Goofy I believe, while staying at a WDW resort. If this is true, will we know when the call will be? Will they make sure we're in our room? Should we let DD answer every call, or will someone ask to speak to her if we answer?

it's more of a call you make. just ask a CM by a phone, usually in guest relations, but they should be able to do it most anywhere.

there's also an anniversary call from mickey & minnie

DD got her birthday call while we were checking in at the resort. We did not ask. She recived another at an epcot kidcot station.
