Birthday cakes?

i know that you can order birthday cakes and many other items through vacation planning , do you have to stay at a onsite hotel to get these items?? we won't be staying onsite but if we happen to be there for my sons birthday i would love o get him a cake so any info would be awsome

If you call any resturant at Disneyland resort, you should be able to buy a customized cake and have it within 48 hours. This is from the new promotion of "what will you celebrate"

Though the main bakery isnt finished yet so im not sure if that applies or not. Id say, go ahead and call the resturant and ask.

Also, if you plan a meal at one of the hotel restaurants, you can call DVP and order a cake to be delivered at the meal. There is a thread on here with some pictures. Also, depending on your son's age, there is a birthday bucket that comes with a small personal size cake and some other stuff in a bucket. They also can deliver that to the restaurants for you.
