Birthday Cake

Hi, we will be celebrating our birthdays during our May trip. We will be there on My dd's actual birthday. I will need to have a birthday cake ordered that I can pick up for her. Are there any bakeries on site that I could order from? I wonder if it would be better to order from Publix or Goodings?

We will have a car and we are staying in a rental home this time around.

You can order a cake through WDW if you'd like. I may be speaking out of turn on this since I haven't priced them but I would be willing to bet you could order one offsite for less $$. If you were staying onsite and didn't have a car that would be different but if it's not going to be inconvient for you to go to a Publix, Goodings, etc. I think that would be the way to go.

Up until two years ago you could call the restaurants directly and order a b'day cake. But they stoped on my son's 4th b'day. Now they have generic cakes with confetti sprinkles that you can order. They are about $15. You can order one at the Boardwalk Bakery and I believe they can do a custom cake (with the name, characters, etc. on them). But this may have changed, too.

I have read that the Goodings near WDW is a bit pricey so your best bet is Publix. In our area, the half sheet cakes are around 1$14.95 at Publix. So if you want one in the parks, your best bet is to call the restaurant directly and get pricing and availability. The cake will be smaller, but you won't have to haul it around the parks. If you want it at your rental, Publix is still your best buy. Besides, with our AP's I would never make it back to the party if I got as close to MGM or Epcot as the Boardwalk.
