Having just read the post in the thread about cowboy cookout tea party, regarding not being able to take a birthday cake out of the restaurant.

Has anyone else heard about this? I would've thought that if you've paid extra for the cake you should be able to take it with you.

I've now got images from the film Matilda with the kid eating the massive chocolate cake!

Bruce Bogtrotter!!
I'm hoping to get my daughter a birthday cake when we go (it'll be about 3-4 weeks early but I'm hoping that's OK ;)), probably at Cafe Mickey, but I'd be very unimpressed if they didn't let us take the leftovers away! Hopefully someone will know..

The people in the cowboy cookout were told they couldn't take it out of the cafe because of 'the way it's made' it did look different to the birthday cakes we seen being bought out in cafe Micky. They were more of a chocolate cream around the edge. Maybe that's got something to do with it?

Although if it was my cake and i wanted to take it out I'm sure I'd find a way?!!

You can defiantly take it from cafe mickey as we did last Tuesday x

Same here. I'd be making a big complaint if they stopped us from taking the left overs away. It's not like you haven't paid for it!

i think it depends on the cake... in cafe mickey, we had a choc cake that cake on a glass cake stand, no way in the world wud u have been able to take it away with u!! other times its been more like a sponge cake...

i dont think id bank on bein able to take it away until u see it....

We weren't given the option of taking the left over cake at Auberge 5 weeks ago, we weren't bothered and it never even crossed our minds tbh - it wasn't the best tasting cake I have ever had, it was more the experience than to eat! LOL!

So how much did you get for the E25, if not the whole cake? Wondering if it's really worth doing.

And don't they bring a whole cake out with candles on? Do you not eat that one, that your child has just blown over?

you get the whole cake, plus candles, at Cafe Mickey. They don't take it away from your table there after you've blown the candles out, and you can ask them to box up the entire cake if you like, so you can take it away with you.

We were given a slice each with our deserts. And yes they bring out a whole cake with candles, I guess they just think you would only eat a slice? We got about half the cake between the 3 of us.

Like I say, maybe if we had asked for it we would have been given it but tbh we paid the 20e for the magical moment of DD having a birthday cake and the characters singing happy birthday to her!

Photos are below in the link to my TR!

I want to order a birthday cake for my daughter birthday meal at Auberge, How do you order? I know we can add it to our booking but is it cheaper ordering at DLP

It is cheaper to buy in advance. We paid 20e for it and added it to our booking. When we checked in we got a voucher for it and was told by the CM to go to City Hall when we got to the park the next day (meal at Auberge was booked for the next day) and they would arrange it. At City Hall they took all our details and put them into the computer, adding the cake onto our reservation at Auberge. When we arrived at Auberge they took our voucher and brought the cake just before desert, with DD's name carved into a chocolate nameplate!

xxx

We are going over in April and want to book a bithday cake for one of our party.
