We're interested in getting a bday cake for dd turning 4 while we are there for Thanksgiving in a few weeks. We have CRT and CP booked for the day of her bday, but I wanted to order a cake we could pick up to celebrate in our off site villa that night ( instead of having to carry remainder of one around MK that day) Anyway, I read through the cake thread and it seems like the places to get a cake "to go" are the Boardwalk Bakery and Grand Floridian bakery? Any opinion as to which one has more options or yummier cakes? Also for those in the Orlando area, how are the cakes in the local stores (Publix?) or do they not even compare to Disney's?Thanks :goodvibes

I would just stop in the Boardwalk bakery and see what they have. The GF Bakery is not an actual place to visit and pick out stuff.

Several years ago, we got a very nice disney princess themed birthday cake from goodings.. much cheaper than the Boardwalk. And, we did not have to pre order it. I think the Boardwalk bakery was kinda "stuffy" or " snooty" because we did not "pre order..." I think they personalized it at Goodings too!

Thank you for the replies, I guess I'll just wait and check out the Boardwalk Bakery and local grocery stores when we get there.
