Does anyone know if the only place to get a Birthday Button is either at one of the DL Hotels or inside the park at City Hall? Do you have to be a guest at the resort hotels to get one there? We're staying across the street, just wondering if I can stop in and get a button at DLH prior to our first park day. Thanks!

The only place you can get the birthday buttons is City Hall. You do not need to be a guest at a resort hotel to ask. You will just need to approach the CM working at City Hall and ask for a button. They will not ask you for proof or anything.

When you get the Birthday Button at city hall. make sure the birthday person picks up the special phone they have there. :) They will get a Happy Birthday message from Goofy!

Thanks for the info! We'll be there for my DD 6th bday in Nov. Can't wait!!!:yay:

I've always just recieved a sticker. But the last time I went a CM in a store gave me a YOMD button that says Happy Birthday YOMD. It's really cute. Also make sure to have it displayed CM will give you a little extra attention & b-day wishes all day long.:bday: I even had a whole crew of people sing Happy b-day in the jungle cruise, thanks to the CM. It really nice.

They are buttons now, but I think you can request a sticker - like for a little child. If you are going to DCA, you can get a button at either Guest Services (on left just inside the turnstiles) or at the Information kiosk (on right, just past the Golden Gate Bridge).

My son also got buttons at Goofy's Kitchen and Lilo and Stich breakfast. They also announce the birthdays at the rockets!

Thanks for all of the responses. I thought I remembered a trip report where someone mentioned that they received buttons some place outside the park. Since we'll be doing a character breakfast prior to our first day in DL, it's great to know that we might be able to get one there. I forgot that they do the phone call at City Hall for birthdays, I'll have to add it to my list of things to do. I've never heard about the announcement on the rockets - my son would be thrilled to hear his name over the loudspeaker. Thanks again to everyone!

Mission tortilla factory tour will give you a free package of fresh tortillas for your b-day. IASW wished DD(5) a happy birthday over the loudspeaker. Belle also had a LONG conversation with her about turning 5 and what it's like to turn 5 in France. I got a button for my dad and made sure the CM wrote "65" on it - that gave us lots of comments all day.

You can get a birthday button at the kiosk where they have the times for rides posted. We got one from a janitor/street sweeper when we asked where we could get them. He also had the anniversary, first visit, and honorary citizen buttons with him. I think a lot of cast members might have them to to pass out to add to the magic. Sometimes the lines in City Hall can be long so check it out to avoid the lines.
